I just watched the last 2 minutes on the AFL site. What a bizarre ending! What the actual …. was that Power player doing when he hit the Crows guy to give the free away, and then the kick was way off line and then swung against its trajectory to go through. You can see a Power fan go up when he kicks it and then slump down in his chair - that’s how off line it was as it was initially kicked. Such an odd end to a game.

Port had so many chances to ice that game, but didn’t.
incredible…

Just watched the highlights etc... of the Port v Crows game

  • Showdowns are great to watch, and this one looked like a great game of footy.
  • Some of the Crows young players really stepped up which might see them emerge from the bottom of the ladder. Might. At least they have a new benchmark.
  • Power played some good footy but don't seem to have a match winner or big moment player. But they seem to lack passion and intent which are usually two of their strengths under Hinkley.
  • That was a brutal incident, even though the contact was not head high. So unnecessary and could only end badly. I hope the young fella from the crows is OK. That was his first game back from neck surgery and he went off holding his neck.

Adelaide: whether you love em, hate em or somewhere in between. If those scenes in the coaches’ box, the crowd and the players doesn’t give you the warm and fuzzies, you might wanna check your pulse. You may well be dead.

Came home from the G and watched the last quarter of the showdown. Even with the game in the balance they seemed to be strolling around the field with no urgency. It was a stark contrast to the intensity of the Mighty DEMONS.

Was at the game and had a great view of Dawson kick, one of the best inswinging set shots you will ever see.

Great games to watch as a neutral.

Did I just see that Tom Green’s goal celebration included kissing a teammate‘European’ style ie, a peck on each cheek?

I thought the crowd at the Dees AFLW was a bit poor - how bad it as at Giants v Suns!! All you can see is a vast panorama of vacant orange seats, Giants players in orange difficult to make out because they blend in with the seats, and the Suns in an absolute shocker of an away guernsey. Abomination. Add to it Brereton bagging on about Preuss, and as bad as the commentary was in the Casey game, it was easier on the eyes than this.

They're not even GWS supporters. The fire alarm went off in a nearby high rise apartment block and the designated muster point is Giants Stadium.

I hope Joel Selwood as the record-breaking most-capped captain is given a fitting experience tonight… a merciless hiding at the hands of Collingwood.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
