Brownlow chances for Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver?

I was just wondering what fellow Demons supporters thoughts are on who from the Melbourne Demons are a good chance to win the Brownlow Medal this year?

Personally, I think Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver would definitely be strong chances. I am slightly in favour of Christian Petracca due to his current line of form.

However, the sad fact is, the last time we had a Brownlow Medal favourite in Cameron Bruce back in 2005 he ended up with a brutally injured shoulder from a tackle by Brent Guerra from St. Kilda.

Anyway, as much as I would like to see another Melbourne Demons player win a Brownlow Medal (our last one being Shane Woewodin in 2000), I would much more prefer to see the Melbourne Demons win another Premiership.

Nevertheless, I am interested in hearing other people's thoughts on who they think is likely to win the Brownlow Medal in 2022.

It's interesting, the way they play, the way our gameplan works and the way the umpires tend to notice the midfielders, if they stay injury free and at the top of their game, they're both likely to poll 30 votes.

We should win 15+ games again. That gets them to 21 votes each (if they're the best on) and this not taking into account 2 and 1 votes or losses.

I can't see too many other players stealing votes off them in the team.  I think Gawn and Jackson will share the load more which means one will have to play a blinder to get a look in.  Defenders don't get votes (maybe Lever / Salem) and forwards have to kick 6+ or have a stack of possessions to have a chance.  Doesn't happen much in our team.  I can't see many of the other midfielders getting more recognition from the umpires than Trac and Clarry.

I would love to see them both win it - imagine if it happened in the same year!

Unfortunately (or fortunately from a team perspective) me thinks they will be pinching votes from each other which will most likely prevent either from getting the chocolates.

Not to mention the likes of Max, Jackson, Fritta, Viney etc popping up occasionally.

Trac must be on 6 votes, easily BOG round one and two.

Trac seems like a man possessed at the moment. Reckon he wouldn't mind adding a Chas Brownlow to his trophy cabinet on the back of last year's Norm Smith & numerous other accolades. I'd be staggered if he's not already on 6 votes.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
