Did anyone just catch Bevo's presser? Absolutely went nuts at Tom Morris for the Lachie Hunter story. Was quite Extraordinary.

Bevo walked straight out immediately.

Thoughts?

I saw that.  Couldn't believe what I was seeing.  It'll be huge news tomorrow.

He's better off trying to get his team to kick goals, instead of going round the outside, instead of going at reporters

Sore loser. Disgraceful performance. Just made himself look like a petulant child. Should cop a whack from the AFL. I bet Tom Morris thrilled - great publicity for him. He will regret it.

Mentioned it in the post game thread but it's one of the most extraordinary press conferences I've seen in the AFL.

It bordered on slander at times, claiming Morris was only doing these stories because he supported MFC, calling it muckraking, implying it was hurting the mental health of those mentioned. Beveridge even tried to get Morris thrown out of the press conference (unsuccessfully). Morris stood up for himself repeatedly. This was a dumpster fire that will be replayed of what not to do when challenged in a public space.

Just ridiculous. The fact that Bevo mentioned (AND COMPLAINED ABOUT, OUT LOUD), leaking, says it all.

Morris merely reported facts made aware to him. Don't lose the plot when they're made public.

As a journalist he was just doing his job and it was merely about a selection.  It was an amazing and in my view unjustified attack. ..

I might be on my own here but I think that's absolute [censored] poor form by Beveridge.

Whether or not we like how journalists go about there business I think all Tom Morris was doing was simply his job. I mean in the end he actually got it right? Hunter was actually a late out today only to be then brought back in when JJ became a last minute out.

Beveridge is really showing his true colours of late in the past 12 months. Becoming a bigger sore loser then Chris Scott.

Absolutely cooked.

Looked a bit not himself either did Bevo IMO. Just seemed 'off'.

Maybe realise his defensive players are ordinary and forward line is 1 player.

Don't reckon you are mate. Every person I've heard comment so far thinks it's absolutely appalling.

The irony of Bevo going on about 'mental health' while he bullies and belittles someone in their workplace is outrageous.

His attitude reminds me of Terry Wallace’s Bulldogs of the late 90’s. It’s always ‘backs against the wall. Everyone hates us’. You can’t keep that up forever, as it’s mentally exhausting.

He got upset at Damien Barrett last year too. It’s like he needs to feel the world is out to get him. It’s an old, outdated world view that’s really bad for your mental health.

It was an embarrassing performance. Beveridge came off as a petulant sook. To make the mental health argument was pretty poor. If he was annoyed with Morris he should’ve discussed it in private.

There is obviously a leak somewhere at the dogs.

I remember Tom Morris eavesdropping  outside the door a couple of years ago when our team was getting a bake then reporting it.

Wow I just heard the end where bevo said you're an embarrassment & everyone is the room went oohh

Its back to Stevo v Mick again. At least Damien Barrett now has a friend to join him in the journos bevo hates.

I can’t stand Tom Morris (mentioned already but he described Salem as a soft half-back flanker which shows how little he knows about the game) but that was totally uncalled for and unprofessional by Beveridge.

Gee I hope Bevo hasn't become as they would say in pro wrestling 'a mark for himself'.

Coming from someone whose politics are admittedly left, I thought the quoting of Che Guevara and Emma Goldman bloody weird. If he is now calculating his actions to be seen as some type of iconoclast then the Dogs will need a quiet word with him.

Watching it back it's a direct attack on someone just doing their job.

To bring in the mental health perspective is an absolute joke based on what has taken place and what you're upset about. Morris was reporting facts.

To then also try and put it back on Tom Morris and claim he's giving everyone else a bad name is straight up bullying. He is trying to turn everyone else in that room against him, and it should be called out.

I’m sorry , but the bulldogs are a club of absolute sooks.

Whinging over a bloody song, and then calling Morris a gutter journo for reporting an out???

Love beating this mob.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
