Stupid contract.

We’ll be paying him to podcast or play for someone else way before it’s done.

One paced, can’t kick, can’t man up. What are we thinking?

A panic move by the club because they’re sad LJ is leaving.

Looks like Hamish and Gus were stirring the pot after all, lol!

A lot of Nervous Nellie's on here last night look a bit silly now.

But he's signed and we can all be happy with that.

Go Dees!

Great news. A 6 year deal is a good outcome for Gus. Good on him

Fantastic boost before we play Freo. I predict another top performance from Gus and 25 point Demons victory. and i predict an AA jacket at the end of the season for Gus as well

Go Dees. Whoop. whoop

I spent the last few days at the snow (make jokes of that if you will), anyway I Saw the Gus announcement on Instagram and then jumped onto Demonland for the first time since Saturday night.

Was quite a ride seeing all the gloomy posts knowing the pot of gold would arrive several pages later.

Very happy with this signing. Love the Gus!

Great signing. I personally love the long term deals for your best players...reduces the annoying noise about potential defection.

I was getting a bit worried about him leaving and what that would have said about what we're trying to build the MFC into. Very relieved.

Brayshaw is a much improved player over the last few seasons...one of our very best at winning genuine 50/50 contests.

It’s ironic, those who read into his interview with Garry and Tim, he was leaving for midfield time heard what they wanted to hear.

I said at the time I wasn’t worried by the interview, he was open and honest. Stated in the interview he was loving his time in the backline. Throughout his appearances in the media he’s been open and honest, calling out teammates and the overall performance, imploring the team first and do your job but in needed for us to be there late in September.

He has shown over several years he’s a team first player and great clubman, but still he was doubted.

But those who jumped to conclusions, won’t learn the player/coach name and thread title will change but the responses will remain the same

I mentioned briefly yesterday that although he said he would decide at the end of the season, no-one was going to be upset, disappointed or throw him in jail if he came out and re-signed earlier.

It was a big decision to make, I feel he spoke the truth there. The stay factor ended up carrying plenty of weight and that isn't at all surprising.

On ya GUSSY!  A true clubman.

I knew the talk about ego and being money hungry was just BS.  Hopefully us fans will not believe the media BS and trust our players next time

  • Demonland changed the title to Angus Brayshaw Re-Signs Until 2028

Just thrilled. Gus has become the heart beat of this team and his selfless acceptance of roles he’d ideally not be playing is a huge part of why the club won a premiership.

I believe wholeheartedly this will provide a massive boost and significant relief for the players and will result in a much improved performance tomorrow night

Never any doubt same as JV7 negotiations, heart and soul, you trucking little beauty Gussy. #10 #6years

You deserve a lot of credit my friend!

LOL my teenage son’s been nagging me for ages to buy him a new guitar. As recently as last night I told him to quit nagging as it’s gonna be a while.
I just messaged him to come straight home from school since I’m gonna buy him a guitar asap.
His response…

I've just retracted my "like". Your sources are miles off the mark. Care to share what connection your sources have to Gus?

Yeah, nah they weren’t though. They were bang on and always are. I wouldn’t have gone with this as strongly if I did if I wasn’t sure.

I don't know what to make of you sometimes. He's in AA contention this year. Ridiculous post

So Gus why did you sign on for six years. Well I was playing chicken with the club but yesterday I released that Max had already replaced me with Ben Gibson on the Podcast. I had to move quick once that happened.

Good work @Dwight Schrute

I got excited when you broke the news then a little sheepish when i heard him speak on SEN.

Threw your gonards on the line and came out on top 👏

Great result for the Club and Angus. A strong thread in the fabric of the MFC.

Now on to Jackson.

Great news.

I won’t go so far as talking of premierships won, but the midfield core we have teed up guarantees a long run of finals moving forward. And that is a prerequisite for winning flags.

Fantastic news. From a cultural point of view this is an important signing. Gus is a leader of the club and has proven himself to be a big stage player.
We also know how versatile Gus is and so I have no doubt he will still be a vital cog in our machine in 6 seasons.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
