Let’s not get carried away just yet with our young blokes - it’s only pre-season training time and the practice matches are still a good few weeks away.

We're allowed. We're reigning premier's and I'm arrogant as [censored] about it now.

Our young players are better then everyone else.

Was the Weed there and if so any comments?

Chook, I hope Weeds can make it but, although showing snippets of form, still cant quite impose as he probably should given his 4 or so years in the system. Did some nice things though🙂

Interesting comment Dazzle, To me, some of yesteryears recruits were like alluvial gold, but our last 5 years or so are all like " Welcome Nuggets" just waiting to shine🤩

The Jacob Van Rooyen clunk has me excited. Not only that but his ability to leap over Joel Smith who probably has one of the highest vertical leap at the club. Is it me or did that contested mark remind me of Aaron Naughton? very impressive.

The chest out jump for the ball, clean clunk and the little strut as he got back up reminded me of a young Hogan.

Funny enough my initial thought was Hogan as well. Back when he was a pack marking beast before he turned into a 3rd tall roaming forward who instead skirted the packs instead of jumping at the ball.

I do like Hogan and really hope to see him at his best this year.

Kozzie’s chase-down of Jayden! I replayed that bit several times, at first to make sure it was Jayden, and then  because it’s a joy to behold. They are all looking so fit and ready to go. Makes me even more excited for the season to start.
#47DaysToGo

To be fair to Jayden the errant bounce provided that little hesitation in his stride while he regathered the ball. Then again, if you choose to bounce the ball in the first 5m and Kozzie's in the vicinity it's an action fraught with peril.

Exemplary work once again Fence. I was unable to pick up Tomlinson and Woewodin in the clip and you haven't mentioned them. Did they participate in the match sim?

Agreed. I’m confident going into this season however definitely keeping a lid on it.

On a completely unrelated note, I had my tattoo touched up a couple of days ago

Tomlinson yes and played ok similar to Petty who had there hands full with Forwards. Woey did all but full match Sims

Just copped a hammering here in Berwick, need Gordon Tracey and Thunderbird 4 down here.

Also in Berwick and can confirm our garbage flooded. Thankfully all my Melbourne gear is stored inside the house and is dry.

I assume May’s hamstring tear is no issue? He completed the full session?
Any ideas why Lever was on a modified program?

Sack that red backline group, they're hopeless! 😁

Big Ben Brown hits up the lead in front of goal, my first thought: I still can't believe we got him so cheap lol

Me too. At 194cm Van Rooyen will need a decent leap to be a key forward at AFL level (which is small for a key forward these days) and he looks to have excellent judgement/timing.

Josh Kennedy goes okay for 194

Jack Darling is 191 too. Hard to believe given he looks like a clumsy lumbering 200cm forward.

This is a weirdly comforting reminder that, no matter that we're reigning premiers, this is still Demonland.

Unbelievable pick up! One grab mark ,has developed his game and become a better player given his ability to roam far and wide, something Norf never developed him into! Deadly accurate goal kicker, 3 in G F you dont reckon the Norf Brains trust would be absolutely peeesed of at their shocking miscalculation. PLUS WE GOT HIM FOR FREE

THANKS NORF

Well not quite free Fence. For a second round pick which is hardly peanuts given the where the likes of Gawn, Fyfe  etc have been drafted!

Kozzy just seems like he'll go up another level. Couldn't believe my eyes how he easily ran down Hunt.

To be fair, Hunt had lost control of the ball while bouncing it, and had to check himself… I don’t think he would have been caught otherwise. Good pace from Kozzy, nonetheless.

Then there’s Jeremy Cameron at 196cm and Jack Riewoldt at 193cm and many others in the mid 190s who can all mark the pill. It looks as if JVR can hold his own in that department and isn’t going to be pushed off the contest. However, there’s a lot more to being a well rounded KPP. Time’s on his side.

Height is not the only factor in marking FT.
Judgement. Leaping ability ( refer to Robby, Bailey Fritsch )

Refer my post on JVR welcome I think.

PS This kid looks something special with his marking elite as part of his game.

The errant bounce I feel was the implied pressure that he was about to get Kozzie’d.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
