Uncharacteristically large amount of photos of Goodwin smiling with the players this morning. I don't like the look of this; they look like they're having fun. Must be in complete shambles.

Yikes.

Beat me to it. Was going to post the exact same photo with a similar caption.

A big tow ball of muscle.

Seems to me the claims of bullying have already resulted in significant change. Notice how the coaches all have kindergarten standard plastic whistles instead of the old manly, metal monsters? Being in club colours is a nice, non-threatening touch.

Maybe they had a big win on the Dapto dogs last race last night.

Yep, looks like they are in disarray!!😉

Haha, yep everyone wants to leave, that's why we have had a massive amount or re-signings.

I will be back on Friday for another Training report! Also T. MAC on the bike would seem to substantiate the injury suffered last Friday. Will post Friday Arvo all being well. P.F

The doctor I believe has signed an NDA contract and is now allowed to pillory  the coach for being a bully.

We have not heard a bad word from A Brayshaw who was the player in question or the parents of the players for the mistreatment of their son.

Got passed on second hand info today, 15 players have run PBs so far this offseason.

No injury worries at all.

I'm off to knock on wood with a rabbit's foot while burning sage...

Mrs Dw surprised me with tickets saying it was an early Valentines Day gift (Damn, if that doesn't put the pressure on).

So, what can Mrs. Dw expect for Valentines Day?

Looking through the training photos, all I can say is that I am in love, never a finer bunch of men to pull on our jumper. We are going to murder teams this year, the scoreboard will get switched off, round three last year I said we would win by cricket scores when we properly clicked. This year will be unlike any year in half a century, we are Phar Lap for the first time since the 50's.

Worrying report on Channel 7 news tonight showing Petty on crutches (apparently with a serious calf tear), TMac with a rolled ankle and Nibbler with a knee niggle.

It's never good seeing one of our guys on crutches! 🤞🤞🤞

Are you able to link? Can't see this reported anywhere

Unfortunately I don't have a link to it. It was part of the sport report. The vision was of Petty arriving to training on crutches and TMac & Nibbler on the oval, but not taking part with the rest of the group.

Normally it's a nice bunch of flowers but the pressure was on.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
