Weideman is ready now. No excuses. He now looks physically ready to play his role - as drafted. It takes some players a lot of time. We expect them to go early, but not many do go early. Weideman had all the right attributes to be a good contributor. I suspect we will see it in 2022.

I'm still a fan of the Weed.

Reckon what is stopping him is mostly between his ears. Had a few injury setbacks too over the last couple of years.

His body shape looks much improved. Stronger through the thighs, hips and shoulders, which will help prevent him getting pushed around in the contest for marks. Hope the tank is similarly improved. 

Wouldn't be surprised if Weed overtakes Tmac by end of 2022. Be a good sign for the health of our KPF stocks.

If my memory serves, it wasn't his hip, he actually had a hairline fracture in a femur. Wasn't particularly painful but he needed to be off legs to allow it to knit/heal.

Just make sure the maids knees are well protected.

I’ve been saying it’s make or break time for Sam for years now. Not sure whether to repeat myself or come up with something new.

While I love talking Demons footy anytime, anywhere, the interspersed quality comic releif here on D'land is generally superior to that found elsewhere.

Go back 12 months and everyone was saying T Mac is finished and Weid is da man.  I think there's a lesson in that.

I'm not totally confident that he'll do it (I don't think anyone can be), but I do think it's important for the medium term depth of the side that Weid makes it in some capasity.  Our team ethos and game style means he doesn't nessacerilly have to be the superstar, but if he can be a solid contributor in the years between BBB and T Mac dropping off and/or retiring, while we develop other young KPFs, then I think that is important.  Sure we could try to aquire a ready made mature KPF from elsewhere, but there are no gaurentees there either.

I think BBB would be a great player for Weid to be an understudy to.  Lead up forward that can also crumb and do smart stuff and kick goals once the ball hits the deck.  The general demeanor of BBB is also such that I think he'll also be a great mentor and developer of our next batch of forwards.

Agree and he did finish 10th in the 2020 B&F while playing a virtual lone hand up forward for much of the season which I think some are forgetting.

What would be the bare minimum pass mark for Weid this year? I think he needs to show that he can consistently kick multiple goals.

Assuming he tears the House down at Casey first!

I’d like to think that by round 6 Weid’s form at Casey will be such that he forces his way into the CHF role in the ones at TMac’s expense - and will stay there for the rest of the year.

I would like to see this, but I remain somewhat skeptical! Weeds best game was vs Jeerlog in the 2018 Final, since then though, not much has gone right!

Reckon the Pies will still pick him up whenever it is that he's finished with us. Hopefully for both himself and Us supporters it's after he enjoys some success.

In previous years round 6 would equate to about 2 games for Casey.

Hope they sort that VFL shortfall out.

I agree that not much went right. But I did see him play live at Richmond where he and Brown combined for quite a few goals.

Both played well and both covered a lot of ground to make contests and created opportunities.

I thought I saw a few games on TV as well where Weid scored a couple. It's more difficult to see off play movement etc.

I felt he was still a little under muscled for the pack situations, easily moved off the ball etc. but he was flexible and mobile.

Id like to see him matched up with Maysie as training program to build his pone on one strength and improve his timing. Couldnt see better tutors than May, Bennie and T Mac. Would think that may be a reason behind him staying. I still think he is the future.

Should have acknowledged that you do see a lot more of the Casey and training sessions than most so really value and appreciate your comments.
