Twomey doesn't throw names around which makes his mention of Anthony Caminiti linked to us quite interesting, albeit as a rookie.

A profile for him is anthony-caminiti

Height: 196cm, Weight: 83kg

STRENGTHS:

+ Mobility
+ Leading Patterns
+ Overhead Marking
+ Clean Hands
+ Scoreboard Impact

IMPROVEMENTS:

- Strength
- Exposure

SUMMARY:

In a draft crop dominated by midfielders, clubs may be more willing to take chances on developing talls a little higher up the order. In Caminiti's case, he'd be an ideal late-round or rookie option given his upside and rate of development, with exciting traits which can be enhanced at the next level. He is mobile and comfortable in possession, adding a bit of dynamism to go with his goalkicking and marking ability.

It sounds like that with a bit of development he could be a very good forward.

cama is a mate of my brothers, started the year about 188cm and has just blasted up, kicked 9 and 6 in seperate school games this year and i guess is just sort of coming to grips with what to do with his newfound size, definition of a project player but has the skills around the ground from his midfield days so would be a good prospect

Seems absurd that Daicos could slide to 4 before a bid comes. He’s the best player in the draft. Realistically North should bid on him with pick 1. Same happened with Tom Green a few years back not getting a bid until 10-12ish when he was clearly top 5 talent and has proven to be that.

Mac Andrew at 5 is a bit of a laugh. Being compared to Jackson but output is a mile off it and his body will take years to stand up to the rigors of AFL. Must be a horrific draft for talls if he gets taken that high!

Anybody here JT on AFL radio? Wasn’t able to listen and keen to hear what he said.

Didn’t say much. They asked him about the flag. Asked about Taj and he said nothing new. Asked about AMW and got a lukewarm response.

On pick 19 he gave little away. But also didn’t deny the group of players Twomey has linked - Howes, Wilmot, Brown and Chesser were likely the ones.

My takeaway from it was we can either sit at 19 and wait for probably one of those 4 to come through or we’ll try to trade up to get one of the highest rated ones.

Def worth a look at one of our last picks

I heard it too. DeeSpencer pretty much had it covered.

Taylor gave very little away. When questioned about pick 17 he said like normal they have got the players ranked and think there will be one or two players that he wants that would be available at the pick. He added that if they picked any one of these players he had in mind that he would be extremely happy.

While I'm pretty sure he said "one or two" I got the impression he meant more than this.

Mentioned that a conversation with Taj Woewodin had been had to say we will only match a bid at a certain point. I am guessing that Taylor has some other kids he is expecting to pick with our 2nd pick (37) and that we are expecting a bid after this to match with our third and final pick on the night.

Thanks @DeeSpencer  One thing is guaranteed.  JT and the team have all the experience and strategies. Runs on the board.   We are in good hands.

I see Bailey Smith when he carries the footy

🤞Howes lasts to our 1st pick. He’s a strong chance. Certainly has the skills and marking ability to be a very good player.

The club have ramped up several meetings with Murray Bushranger prospect Tom Brown in the past fortnight. This has also included his family being part of the process as welll.

In the past week our senior Bushies coach and footy manager have been asked once again for a reference background check on his character and off field behavior's.

The feeling we have is that Tom is under serious consideration for our pick now, as they have pretty big wraps on him.

My personal opinion is that we have Darcy Wilmot as our number 1 target, followed by Brown if Wilmot does not last to our pick.

Thanks for sharing dazzle. I love demonland for these little pieces of intel. Tipped to go to Sydney in a couple phantoms I've seen and looks to be around that 16 - 25 range.

What are your thoughts on him as a footballer?

Thanks Dazzle. Think you’re spot on re: Wilmot, seems like a few clubs have rounded on him as the preference in that range, he could well be the target of clubs seeking to trade up  the order a touch.

He qualifies for the draft by a single day, so a heap of potential for growth.

As a footballer he's a beautifully balanced player who reads the game really well and uses speed off half back to really provide that dash and carry. He's also a great link up player who'll give off a hand ball and then spread hard to the next contest to provide as an extra option. Bit like what Ed Langdon does. Not only is his able to provide dash off half back, but is also able to lock down when needed, so already has good defensive mindset in his game

For someone of his height and weight 186cm 71kg I don't think i have seen a more impressive player of his size that is able to take  intercept contested marks down back. Has amazing reading of the game and just times himself in going for those intercept marks. It really does remind me of Jake Lever with this part of his game.

The way I'm looking at this pick is  its pretty much an apprentice role to Michael Hibberd or to release River/Bowey to a future midfield role.

Off field he's a really driven kid who comes from a ripper family.  Mooroopna boy who i can't speak highly enough.

You’d have to think they have plans to release Rivers. I understand we maybe lacking a certified lockdown small/medium defender, but we’d be stacked in the backline with Hunt, Tomlinson to return

Is this write up about Brown or Wimot?

Thanks for the inside word dazzle.

Dazzle is ther any word re: interest in Brown from Sydney, who widely mocked to take him and there are rumours of them meeting with his management quite fervently.

    HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne traveled across the continent to take on the Fremantle Dockers in sweltering conditions at Mandurah south of Perth in a game that delivered the club both its highlight and its lowlight in the first minute.  But first, let’s start by doing away with the usual cliches used in connection with the game. It was just a practice match and the result didn’t matter. Bad kicking is bad football. The game was played in severe heat, the swirly breeze played havoc with both teams resulting in

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom
