It’s pretty obvious IMV. I have no issue for LJ wanting to leave. It’s his right. However it’s not too much for us to ask LJ to behave professionally in the matter so that we are adequately compensated or have some leverage in negotiations.

This is the part that leaves a sour taste and I’m sure the club would be unhappy with this as well given how much we have supported him and did right by him all year.  It is quite disrespectful.

What do you expect him to do exactly? Go to the PSD if freo can’t compensate us adequately? He saw out his contract, didn’t rock the boat or be disruptive in any way from what I can tell and based on Kate Roffeys speech at the bnf leaves on good terms and would be welcomed back.

By all means have the [censored] with freo and Peter bellend but I don’t think Luke has done much wrong here.

Is this about him being photographed out and about with sean darcy? As far as I can tell everything else he's done has been professional.

It is totally inappropriate for anyone to reveal private matters affecting a player's choice, though reasonable speculation should be acceptable on a site like this.

A number of posters have complained that if he knew he was going it would have been better for the club if he left last year and have stuck into him for not doing that.  That is why I asked if those who imply they know the personal reasons could state that those reasons didn't arise till this year.  If they only arose this year, that should shut those complainers up totally.  Not that they have much of a leg to stand on anyway.

I’ve heard a reason, no idea if true or not so won’t mention. But if it is true then can totally understand why he’s heading home. I would do the same if I were in his shoes.

I'm being obtuse? You're the one making insinuations with nothing to back up anything.

I asked how is he being disrespectful with his behaviour. And I asked it of @CYB as you were clearly happy to sprout innuendo and not provide anything else.

Yeah, [censored] tell us this PRIVATE FAMILY MATTER! I, as an anonymous poster, deserve to be told of a STRANGER’S FAMILY MATTER as it causing me momentary distress due to the inability of my football club to get commensurate value in a trade!

That and out parting with Freo players. Now usually I couldn’t give a flying F for one’s social outings  but you can see the perception that it creates. The fact that he has no interest in WC basically takes them out of the running and  hence kills any leverage we had as the alternative (PSD) is not the option.

It doesn’t take much to do a tour of one’s facilities and create an illusion that he would consider WC. But I suspect the player , manager are telling Bell that he will be at Freo next year. Why else would Freo be so cocky in their negotiations.

That’s passive aggressive.

What family issues do you have? Should I speculate?

My heart sank when I saw that...

Have they dropped their offer or are you referring to the one in this later post?

I would settle for that and give them our F2 and or F3 back since we typically don't take picks >40 to the draft.

No way would I give them anything back. We could've picked Young ( a great kick) who recently signed a 5 year deal instead of Luke. Pick 13 and a F1?? aren't equal let alone giving a F2 and F3 in a stronger draft next year.

You’re projecting what I do and do not know. I respectfully request that you keep your own inane summations to yourself

This man is not as it all seems….posters on here say ‘there, there’ and ‘thanks for your service’ but I’ll say one thing - he will never set foot in the club again

Nice!

The pressure is really starting to build and that is what Freo want, same with Lions and Bulldogs and Lobbe is in the middle. It’s a house of cards Freo want us to sweat and second guess their intentions as we have the most to lose, they are hoping that we buckle. Eagles are sitting on the sidelines waiting to see who blinks first knowing that we have a weak hand going into the draft and may have to get a deal done to save face and get something back. LJ has gone from the Golden Goose to Xmas Pudding according to Freo and Eagles. Grrrrr.!!
