😡😡😡

This is the ridiculous small town scrutiny that Luke will be exposed to if he decided to leave particularly if it involves a mega deal - no idea why anyone would want to carry that gorilla around on your back

Of course players take time to reach peak fitness, but that doesn't mean they can't contribute from year 1.

GOOD..........Jackson will see this Perth newspaper spread of him walking through the airport. He will realise this a red light warning of what he can expect if he signs with Freo or WC. Every game he plays will be under scrutiny.

He'll be photographed in restaurants and pubs.  A living hell.

Still confident LJ stays with dees.

Just an afterthought..Jacksons parents will definitely see the full page spread over breakfast. They probably now think its best he stays in Melbourne. Should make for an interesting family conversation before he flies back.

Cringe WA newspaper thing .....

That's genuinely funny. Everything about it is so incredibly embarrassing.

All the other articles on the page actually make the whole thing even better .... WAFL oval conditions, Rory Lobb yawning, 1 year extension for peripheral veteran ..... and even managed to get their contractually obliged mention of Naitanui into the paper. Chef's kiss. 😘

I find this legit funny the 'Boo Ban' and the fact they use a photo of Gus

I hope the “Boo Ban” is enforced and abided by. Moreover, I hope they applaud and cheer for Dogga.

Then 9am Monday morning he signs with us.

😁

Never said they couldn’t.

Do you think they wrote the story yesterday before Gus signed and were to lazy to change both the type and the photo.

I kind of hope Jesse Hogan reaches out to him and tells him how hard it is. Not because I want Jackson to stay (although I do) but because of how it hampered Hogans development and his career - you dont want to see a unique talent like Jackson squashed because of the media in an two team footy state, or because of jerks just wanting their 5mins of fame.

Not knowing the kid, he may actually relish the spotlight and adoration.

Will be interesting to see how he performs tonight as he's been no better than "good" over the past few weeks.

Turn it on Jacko. We need a huge game from you tonight.

Kane Cornes writing in the Western Australian believes Freo are taking a huge gamble on Jackson. He believes the deal is done but questions his value as he is only a ruckman and not much of a forward in his opinion.

I actually like this. Gives him a taste of what is to come if/when he joins Freo. He may salivate at the prospect of being in the limelight all the time, but all indications thus far is that he probably doesn't.

If he does go to Freo on the big coin that has been reported and has a year like he has this year, I would expect some journo's to start the questioning on whether it was the right move for Freo. I suppose it can also play out the 'otherway'.

Can you imagine how awkward that photo would be for LJ today? It’s hard to imagine any scenario where he’s actually happy to see something like that in the paper, and extremely likely he’s quite p’d off by it.

Its a big game for Luke tonight, given the situation he's set up re-his contract negotiations and the rumours of Freo being in the box seat should he leave.

A big game by Luke tonight will ensure Freo cough up whats required to get him (i.e. a pick 3+), a poor game and that cough up will become a bit harder for the powers that be at Freo to justify.

Melbourne will win or lose tonight, irrespective of Lukes form, but due to our ability to recapture our team first footy. Luke having a blinder will be the icing.

Go Demons

Are we hoping he plays a blinder and helps us win or has a stinker which gives Freo cold feet?

Us winning is all that matters.

PS: Without any injuries of course.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
