I strongly suspect that I'm the only Demonlander who hasn't spent a brass razoo on merchandise or memorabilia and have no intention of doing so.Ā

I watched the game and will always have that experience and the joyous memory of our triumph.Ā  Should that memory ever need refreshing, there is no shortage of replays and highlights on the internet to watch.

Ā

I'm not a huge one for memorabilia either (though I did get the poster and got an xmas present for mum) but I'm happy to throw money at the club so they can make hay while the sun shines especially considering the massive financial hit they've taken in the last two years. Most of the stuff I buy will probably be for the kids but when I next get to the Demon Shop I might buy one of the jumpers/tshirts/hoodies etc if they're in stock.

Most annoying thing is the Demon Shop has sold out of a lot of kids sized stuff but the same things are available at the AFL Shop/MCG Shop - would rather go direct so the club gets the money but if I don't have a choice I'll have to go elsewhere. The kids really want the tshirt with the Mark Knight design but they don't have any smaller ones left. I did get them the drink bottle with the same design though, hopefully it comes before xmas.

What is "AL" Premiers? Is that a typo on the footy??

Are you serious?

I must admit though that I have tried to purchase items of a practical nature and not just decorative so I have avoided posters and photos.Ā  And being in FNQ many items are very impractical.

Then again not sure what I am going to do with 4 caps/t shirts...

TBH I feel as ifĀ  I should make an modest donation to the club.

Yes, mate.Ā  None of it interests me in the slightest.

I went the Poster, T-Shirt, Fridge Magnet, Stubby Holder and Pennant. Nothing too extreme here.

Imagine if i was at the game I may have gone a little bit more overboard.

Only waiting on the poster, but received the dreaded AusPost slip this morning, so hopefully will pick that up tomorrow.

I just received some of my mfc order and noticed a lot of things:Ā  scarf, mouse pad, stubbie holders, had the following on them:

MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB 21.14 140 DEF WESTERN BULLDOGS 10.6 66

To roughly that scale and the final score very prominent.Ā  Not sure if it is typical of GF memorabilia but I reckon it is a bit cheeky displaying the scores!Ā

Think what fun it will be using a stubbie holder with whatever drinks one fancies, when there are doggie supporters around!Ā  Not to mention the smile on my face every time I use my mouse which is constant!Ā Ā

Thanks for the encouragement guys.Ā  Some more info:

This is what my account says for the various items not shipped:Ā Ā

  • This product cannot be reordered because it's out of stock.Ā  OR
  • Unfortunately this product is no longer for sale so it cannot be reordered.

The items not shipped weren't on 'pre-order' when I placed the order.Ā Ā

I figure that at some stage I might get the items with the first message but not those with the second message and unfortunately the latter includes the grey 'Premiers' t-shirt.Ā  Ā I've emailed the Demon Shop to clarify those messages but I know they are under the pump so will patiently await their reply.Ā

The shipment email said:Ā  No tracking numbers are assigned to your order yet.Ā  I'm guessing this is up to Aust Post to issue when it gets to their parcel centre.Ā  Not too fussed about this as they are also really under the pump.Ā  I'm sure what has been shipped will arrive in due course.

Refund wasn't mentioned for the unshipped items.Ā

Wanted to report back to DL the outcome.

I received my shipped order todayĀ with all the items that had the messages highlighted aboveĀ includedĀ šŸ™ƒšŸ™‚šŸ™ƒ.

While I haven't heard back from the club to clarify the messages, my conclusion is that if I wanted to add some to my original order they are no longer available to re-order.Ā  Don't hold me to that but it makes sense of the messages.Ā

Very happy.Ā

You're not alone.

Walked past the AFL Store and saw this "Deemolition" t-shirt in the window and couldn't resist buying it!

Here is an image of what the t-shirt looks like: AF10584S_7e73aa57-d079-4b2f-b930-8cf16f4

I love the 1990's retro Demons mascot image. It brings back a lot of fond memories growing up. I used to have the exact same 1990's retro Demons mascot image on a jumper/sweater that I wore as a kid. 😁

GO DEMONS!!!

DVDs and Blu-Rays 20% off at JB for the next few. Victory Pack is $75.20.

It appears that the blu ray and victory pack released today is not in stock yet, status shows as ā€œawaiting stockā€. Not sure what the problem is but I would rather see the GF on blu ray with the alternate commentaries so will wait

Thanks. Monday next week is looking good at this stage

So my limited Herald Sun Poster has arrived.Ā

Now my issue is finding a frame that is 64 x 45 that isn't so expensive. Can anyone recommend me a frame or even a way that it could fit into a bigger frame without looking weird? (Tight on cash:( )Ā

If you live in Melbz It’d Ā be worth your while to PM @joeboyĀ since he offers a discount to Demonlanders. Your poster is a special one so it’s probs wiser to have it professionally framed. I have some framed posters from Joeboy. The quality is superb and the prices are more than reasonable.Ā
😁😁 end of advertisement 😁😁

  • GAMEDAY: Brisbane

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are back on the road with a massive challenge ahead — facing the reigning premiers, the Brisbane Lions, at their Gabba fortress. The Lions are licking their wounds after a shock draw in Tasmania last week, while Melbourne’s season hangs in the balance. Can the Dees defy the odds and pull off a miracle to keep their razor thin finals hopes alive?

  • NON-MFC: Round 10

The Sir Doug Nicholls Round kicks off in Darwin with a Top 4 clash between the Suns and the Hawks. On Friday night the Swans will be seeking to rebound from a challenging start to the season, while the Blues have the Top 8 in their sights after their sluggish start. Saturdays matches kick off with a blockbuster between the Collingwood and Kuwarna with the Magpies looking to maintain their strong form and the Crows aiming to make a statement on the road. The Power face a difficult task to revive their season against a resilient Cats side looking to make amends for their narrow loss last week. The Giants aim to reinforce their top-eight status, while the Dockers will be looking to break the travel hoodoo. The sole Saturday game is a critical matchup for both teams, as the Bulldogs strive to cemet their spot in the top six and the Bombers desperately want break into the 8. Sundays start with a bottom 3 clash between the Tigers and Kangaroos with both teams wanting to avoid the being in wooden spoon contention. The Round concludes with the Eagles still searching for their first win of the season, while the Saints look to keep their finals hopes alive with a crucial away victory. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Brisbane

And just like that, we’re Narrm again. Even though the annual AFL Sir Doug Nicholls Round which commemorates the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture to our game has been a welcome addition to our calendar for ten years, more lately it has been a portent of tough times ahead for we beleaguered Narrm supporters. Ever since the club broke through for its historic 2021 premiership, this has become a troubling time of the year for the club. For example, it all began when Melbourne rebranded itself as Narrm across the two rounds of the Sir Doug Nicholls Round to become the first club to adopt an Indigenous club name especially for the occasion. It won its first outing under the brand against lowly North Melbourne to go to 10 wins and no losses but not without a struggle or a major injury toĀ  star winger Ed Langdon who broke his ribs and missed several weeks. In the following week, still as Narrm, the team’s 17 game winning streak came to an end at the hands of the Dockers. That came along with more injuries, a plague that remained with them for the remainder of the season until, beset by injuries, the Dees were eliminated from the finals in straight sets. It was even worse last year, when Narrm inexplicably lowered its colours in Perth to the Waalit Marawar Eagles. Oh, the shame of it all! At least this year, if there is a corner to turn around, it has to be in the direction of something better. To that end, I produced a special pre-game chant in the local Narrm language - ā€œnam mi:wi winnamun katjil prolin ambi ngamar thamelin ambā€ which roughly translated is ā€œevery heart beats true for the red and the blue.ā€ >y belief is that if all of the Narrm faithful recite it long enough, then it might prove to be the only way to beat the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba on Sunday. The Lions are coming off a disappointing draw at Marvel Stadium against a North Melbourne team that lacks the ability and know how to win games (except when playing Melbourne). Brisbane are, however, a different kettle of fish at home and have very few positional weaknesses. They are a midfield powerhouse, strong in defence and have plenty of forward options, particularly their small and medium sized players, to kick a winning score this week after the sting of last week’s below par performance.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeatĀ  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.
