We are a team heading for a dynasty, we’re all young, this same team can stay together for 5 years, Gawn & May will go 3 more, we will lose a few but the main players are 26 and under.

I might be a little discombobulated after the epic celebrations in our house. But, I could have sworn, with 5 minutes to go the commentators showed a a tally of the most possessions in a grand final. It has Tracc on 39, equal to Simon Black. I then saw Tracc handball to a teammate and I assumed he had claimed the record. Looking on the stats sheets he is attributed with only 39. Very strange. Also, Gawny’s goal, WtF? Viewed from behind the goals, it was unquestionably the wrong outcome. Also, the umpiring was absolutely appalling.
Sorry, just had to get that off my chest so I can enjoy the win in its entirety. In 40 plus years of supporting this wonderful bloody team I’ve realised, I’ve never known this feeling. We are the champions. The anxiety of supporting a team that never wins the big dance is lifted and a contentness has settled. It’s most pleasant.

Look Im still not convinced....

We havent beaten anyone above us yet!!!😘

OH JAHEEZUS

WE HAVE DONE IT! 🤩😍🥰😇

We have Won it 🤩But coz Im half tanked  SO Ill sayyýy morrre temoira cheers Pickled Fence

Bloody hell. Get around the boys

Love all the demonland crew

We desteoyed them

I will never recover

During the first and second quarters, I really wanted someone to clean up Libba - and shut that gob of his.

But I don't think anyone of our team could have hurt him more than the our performance in the last 2 quarters. Hope that really hurt Libba.

I came to Melbourne in early 1965 from England. On the boat over I experienced my first game of Australian Rules football with a film about the 1964 premiership winning team Melbourne. After my arrival I was taken to a game between Richmond and Melbourne by my brother who was a Melbourne supporter at that time.  I have supported the Demons from this day to this and never thought this day would ever occur. Hallelujah l can now die in peace.

Trent Rivers…I will allow you to marry my daughter. Didn’t touch the ball a lot but thought you were fantastic all game.

Can't believe the turn around. Was feeling very sullen during the second quarter and was terrible company for my partner who had jumped on the bandwagon in support.

That second half... Speechless. All I could do was stare in disbelief as we slammed on goal after goal. Don't think i was any better company as I was glued to the TV in a somewhat dissociative state.

I only wish I could have been there to share in the passion and joy of thousands of fans that have been through the pain and suffering that only demons fans would know. But demonland has done a damn good job at bringing us all together, particular through the toughest of recent times.

Thank you @Demonland and everyone else associated in running this site.

We deserve this.

Voice gone, back sore, emotionally exhausted, love you all.

Go dees.

I’ve just started watching the replay, it’s possible I won’t sleep tonight. I would’ve preferred to just watch the second half I guess this will do. I’m still just so happy.

Congrats to Trac, well deserved Norm Smith.

Fritta, simply amazing.

Jackson, this may seem OTT but I thought him taking primary ruck duties in the third quarter changed the game. He is something special.

Salem, brilliant and cool as ever.

Max, captain my captain. So much love.

I could go through the whole list but I’m just going to sit back and enjoy it. What I will say is thanks to this club for bringing it home, would’ve been special to be there but they did it for us. The Perth crowd were fantastic, thanks to everyone there. Some time in the future we will all be together to celebrate this properly, but for now I will just enjoy watching the replay and once again say thank you to everyone.

The Freo Dockers Cheer Squad helped with the banner. We should acknowledge that the next time we play them at the ‘G.

Watching the game is so much better when you know you win

I love football. Finally after 57 days and 57 years I see my team win the ultimate prize!  Go Dees😈 ❤️💙  I say I broke the Curse!!!

I'm so happy.

Supporter since 1966.

Finally my 2 sons (25 and 22) have officially forgiven me for making them support Melbourne.

It was a battle during the Neeld years and only the lure of impending MCC membership kept them on board.

But we've got them for ever now.

Did I actually see that or was it the sweetest dream ever?

i have finally forgiven my dad.... and i'm 41

2021 will be remembered for…

The Dees Premiership!

We did it!!!! I can say this objectively (hiccup) that we were the best premiership team in recent memory. Any time we got challenged, we stood up. What a great team, what a great coaching staff. What fantastic supporters.

I love demonland, I love you all!!!!!!! Best feeling ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
