Tough on Hunt and others who miss out but what about young Jake Bowey. 6 games into his career, he has cemented his spot in the side and will run out to play in the big one tomorrow. The kid must be pinching himself.

Consistent selection policy all season. Good to see.

Jordon the medi sub?

I hope not!! Need Hunt for his run and carry and Pace , something Jordan just does not have

I have been weirdly calm and confident the last two days, and I do not like it one bit. We are 100% going to lose now.

I was a just watching AFL 360 and they only showed footage from the round 19 game which was infuriating.

I honestly think we win and win pretty well (over 30 points).  In fact, if this game is played 10 times I think we win 9 of them and the one we lose is through bad goal kicking.

Yes the only question is the medi  sub. I think it will be jordan but I would prefer Hunt. More speed and can play forward or even as a wingman. Mind you Jordan has not done anything wrong.

........ and very hard to change a team that won a Prelim by 83 points at its last outing.  GO DEES!

Particularly as the result against the team of the footballing gerontology (The Cats) whom I regard as more potent than the Bulldogs and certainly, more experienced. The WB had a good run in the finals against sides that were less competitive than they should have been.

This gives me some confidence, as I rank the top three teams as follows: 1. Melbourne; 2. Geelong; and 3. The Bulldogs.

In this ranking, there are some noticeable differences between the clubs - this leaves us, I believe, clearly at the top of the rung and about to win a Premiership.

Carna Dees!

One of Jordon and Hunt is going to be a hard luck story.

Jordon hasn't missed a game all year (whether in the 22 or starting as the sub).

Hunt was a mainstay of the side for the first 20 weeks, wouldn't ever have been dropped but was one of our rare injuries this year.

Nah, Clint, the wins 'yes'; the one we lose is the result of the umpires keeping the Dogs in the game, all game and with so many poor and incorrect decisions going their way, it was too late to change their earlier decisions and the resultant outcomes. The one that I didn't like, in particular, was when Max marked in front of the pack (in front of the Doggies' goalmouth) and was penalised for backward head-butting Liberatores fist.

Meanwhile, Chandler an emergency because...we're worried about Spargo?

Pretty sure Chandler was emergency against Geelong and Brisbane.

Absolutely, really feel for whoever misses out. A lot can change in a couple of months. Back then, Bowey was barely a twinkle in Goody's eye. Rare for a debutant to take his chance like that. Definitely good on him, kid is going to be a star but geez Hunt/Jordon will have every right to feel like the rug was pulled out from under them.

Is anyone else fighting off nausea?  I've been trying to distract myself all week and (thankfully and ironically) have had some full on stuff to deal with  - but every time I 'relax' and think about Saturday night I feel like vomiting. Or crying. And then vomiting again.

I'm going to be a mess on Saturday.

No drinking before the first bounce!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
