Alf Potter and Mike Williamson would be appalled.
Cheap organization today

Geez this is the most fit looking MFC team i've ever seen. 1 game in 28 days. a hot night in Perth. Dogs are going to have to work bloody hard to even be in this game.

Jack Viney just has this look about him, that tells me he has set himself bigtime for this game.

the boys overall look really really calm, feeling very confident

I was at Optus earlier and when they ran out Viney separated from the group and ran through the middle of the ground…this is his moment and he knows it!

Just a quick statement/ thought!

I have supported this club through good and bad. At times I must admit my love did wane but my commitment never has, being a WA based member for over 25 years. I will be attending tomorrow and must say; very nervous and very excited. I really can't say we win or lose but do believe this is the start of a few very promising years.

Having looked through the predictions at the beginning of the season, we had one pundit expecting us to make the 8. Personally I thought we would and maybe win a first final. This is well beyond what I expected. Whatever the result the players, coaches and backroom staff have certainly done more than most expected. The video of Goodwin on the season ahead is also nostradamus like!

https://www.afl.com.au/news/560486/crystal-ball-our-predictions-for-the-2021-afl-season-are-in

Walking out of OPTUS tomorrow, it will be with a sense of joy or sorrow but also hope that this team is the one that breaks the drought sooner than later. The curse of Norm Smith may be folklore but it has certainly hung above us. Norm died at 57 and we have made the GF 57 years after we last one it.

In saying all this I hope we step up tomorrow and put the dogs in the kennel. Our best will be good enough, lets hope we bring it!

I am also a WA based member and have been a continuous member for over 25 years. I will be barracking very loudly for all other members who should be there but can’t.

I love this club and tomorrow is going to be a very emotional day…I feel bloody proud!

Today hit me hard. I’ve spent 32 years going every week with my dad and a group of family friends. I’ve waited to see a premiership all of my life and had always imagined it so differently to this. I’m sure so many here feel the same. I just want to scream “Go Deeeeeees!” In the streets. HHaha. I want this win so much, but it’s so tough watching from afar.

C’mon Dees. As Ron said “keep your cool, and give em hell”

Yeah I disliked the way he and others got stuck into Harmes after a Hannan goal from a dodgy free kick. I hope Viney and others put him in his place tomorrow

Viney in a grand final. Terrifying proposition (for the Bulldogs). A bit like when your mate has had too much "substances" and you're trying to keep him under control.

I just want to than everybody at the club, the off field team that must of worked so hard.  Thanks to the unsung people at this club who every single day give their heart and soul to supporting the players, coaches and keeping supporters informed during 2021.

can't wait for the game, I'm going broke. Every day I go to the newsagent for the daily paper the owner has a new piece of Dees stuff on the counter, whether it be coasters, bottle openers, etc. as he knows I will buy them !!

He is a Richmond supporter and there has been a lot of stirring going on through the year. He is also Adam Maric's father and so is firmly with us tomorrow!

I was thinking about how I'll be feeling tomorrow if we drop 3 or 5 goals behind early on.

Notable comebacks for us:

  1. Round 2, we fell 3 goals behind in the second quarter St Kilda;
  2. Round 3, we fell 3 goals behind in the first quarter against GWS;
  3. Round 6, Richmond jumped us early, only two goals but were all over us pressure-wise;
  4. Round 7, we were 20 points down to North at half time;
  5. Round 8, Sydney kicked the first two goals;
  6. Round 12, we were 20 points down to Brisbane at half time;
  7. Round 23, the big Geelong comeback

Four of these were against finals sides, too.

I've been looking through the Dogs' season to see how often they fell behind but won:

  1. Round 2, they came back from 3 goals down in the last quarter to beat West Coast;
  2. Round 8, they came back from 27 points down against Carlton late in the third quarter;
  3. Round 18, they conceded the first three goals to Gold Coast
  4. Semi final, they were 3 goals behind Brisbane in the third quarter

So the semi final really is the only time they've fought back from a deficit. That really comes from their strong first quarter record, they've won almost all of them this year.

I suppose the confidence I want to draw from this is that even if the Dogs jump us early, we should feel like we're capable of bringing it back. But would they feel the same way if we get an early lead...?

This whole thing about playing once in 28 days [censored] me no end

We are playing our 3rd game in 29 days tomorrow, 4th in 35 days

WBD are playing their 4th game in 28 days, also their 4th game in 36 days (5th in 37)

Makes no [censored] difference

Yeah it's pretty annoying.

They've played one more game than us, the semi final three weeks ago when we had the week off.

Who else feels sick with nerves? It’s really hitting me that I haven’t thought about the possibility of losing all week. Just been dreaming about winning. That is a worry as it’s setting me up for a massive letdown if we don’t win.

Most people don't remember the 1950's - 1971 the VFL consisted of the top 4 and the top team or the second team had a bye in the 1st week of the finals and if they won the 2nd semi-final they had a 2 week break to the Grand Final, like we had this year most time in the 1950's-1971.

But in those days the team coming from the preliminary final had no break.

Preparation is the key to playing after a break and Burgess, Goodwin, Yze and Williams have been there and done that.

And the old final 5 gave the minor premiers a week off before the second semi and another potential week off.

I am looking forward to the chant of Gaaawny, Gaaawny starting at the first bounce tomorrow. It would be ridiculous!  As a supporter since the early 60’s and in Perth for the last 35 years, I’m expecting tears to be flowing before and after the game. My one voice will be added to the multitude, and for everyone of you elsewhere in this country… CARN THE DEES!!

I am so proud of this mob!

    CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

    The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

    I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

    Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
