How important is Ben Brown to our structure. He was immense last night and good to see his goal kicking accuracy improve with the more games he has played with us.

Bet he is happy he made the move from a wooden spooner team to a gf bound one.

And does he have the longest skinny arms in the whole AFL.

I don't want to gloat, but you should have chosen us, Smith, you [censored].

Isaac Smug - really took a dislike to his smugness in that 2018 final v Hawthorn.  So glad we didn’t get him, though he would struggle to fit in to our structure

He was most definitely choking back in tears.

The footage of him celebrating during the game was one of the best things I've seen.

The way I look at with Lyon is that his opinion is no different to the stuff that's been written on here over the past few years.

There's a realistic chance Gaz could be presenting the cup if we win.

I am happy that Garry is there because none of us can be - here is an icon and is now an avatar for Melbourne fans who have been through more than we should gone through.

He is a tad embarrassed by his opportunity you can see it on his face but I don't care - it was great to watch last night; it was cathartic. Would have hated to have some Perth no name talk to the players after the game asking stupid question-statements.

I hope he has an amazing GF experience - I will be living it through him on TV and through some of you that are WA based.

didn't neeld come from geelong?

Ocean Grove I believe, which is down near Dunderfield I think.

We are in a [censored] GRAND FINAL!! and will be favourites

it is seriously only starting to sink in!!

With games every few weeks NC I have lost track. Sadly I missed the game last night I thought PF's were the week before the GF. Then someone told me it is in Perth this year but we won't be playing a WA team. With the new fangled competition I get lost. Next think I will hear is we beat Geelong by a big margin to make the GF. I remember when footy was easy to follow.

Why is the club sending me strange emails about buttons and messages to the players in Perth so it really is true.

Saturday week who plays next week NC?

This is why we have to finish the job this year! Old Dee is one of many who need to see it happen. ❤️💙

Couldn't sleep much last night. Having watched the replay its difficult to tell how much was us being outstanding and how much was Geelong having a complete shocker. No doubt our pressure was first rate.

It was one of those nights where everything broke our way...the bounce of the ball, the fumbles tended to roll in the direction of one of our players, the snaps at goal and probably the umpiring a bit too.

What i can't work out is how Geelong ended up with 40+ inside 50's. There must have been a lot of very shallow ones. We barely got to see how hampered (or not) May was because he was just hardly ever required to engage in a contest.

3rd. He stopped entirely. It was arrogant and he delayed the kick to let the bloke flail about.

The crowd lapped it up.

It was great.

I loved this. He had a second or two of literally standing still with the ball on the 50

We knew the Cats were vulnerable by the game they played last week.

I think they stood very little chance due to fitness, age bracket., bye and game plan. Albeit that alone doesn’t account for an 83 point drubbing - 5-6 goals at best. Last night was the perfect storm of the above PLUS the massive confidence, momentum and self belief this group has right now. Execution wise each player understands and played their role almost flawlessly. That is how I explain thr 83 point win.

The next game will not be as easy as both Port and the Dogs don’t give us the same head start in game plan, age profile etc. it will all boil down to execution and role play.

Has anyone seen that 'Pressure Rating' stat they sometimes show on the broadcast for last night's game? Would be interested to see what those numbers were and how they stack up with other games this year. Would guess Geeling might have had a pretty low rating.

How about these stats for Langdon. More than 50% more sprint efforts than the next best person on the ground.

Just dawned on me after seeing this post - did the steeplechaser (Biclavs) play last night?  Don’t remember seeing him.

But we would kill for forward line like Geelong according to kingy, they have 3 forwards that kick goals, we have 6

Our first 9 goals were from 8 different goal kickers....

PFs been a tad quiet ....now i know why....

So we lost the clearances by 4

Our score from stoppages was 101 vs 24 for the Cats.

101 beat the previous highest this year by 22

Go figure

Watching the replay and seeing Toby Green jumping up pumping the fists shouting ' Maxy' was just awesome!  Just love all the support getting behind the dees ! 2018 was a wave but 2021 is swelling a tsunami! The atmosphere at the ground must have been amazing - it was in my living room!

They should give us the Premiership Cup now. On the form we showed last night I seriously think we are unbeatable. Punters load up!

Geez duckwood is a bucket of puss.

In the third he gives away a 50m and says Langers dived, well he would know all about that as he is the king of it and just continues to whinge and carry on like a spoiled brat.

Then again in the third he puts the knees into Oliver when he was going for a mark then pretends to give a [censored] and helps Oliver up. SUCH A ENTITLED [censored].

God I hate Geelong.

GOD I LOVE THE DEMONS. ❤️💙

What is happening?! Even Luke Skywalker is on board!

After a swim at the beach, watching the replay now!

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
