Soooo how long can we leave our stuff up for until our houses get egged?

End of September i reckon

Quick question: being new to the whole  My Awesome Team Just Won The Premiership thing, one wonders for how long does one leave one’s house decorations up???

Sadly, I’m familiar with the etiquette of a grand final loss (in particular, 2000) whereat one takes one’s decorations down as soon as it gets dark, all the while crying. Well, that was me anyways.

I didn't get a pic in time but I saw a tram driver with a Melbourne scarf flapping out his window like you do in a car after a win.

@TheWiz,@WalkingCivilWar, as this is all our Christmases come at once (including that they came on the 25th!!), I reckon 12 days at least. Indeed true tradition has Candlemas Eve (1 February) as the day of undecorating, so let's make it 1 November😁

Got no plans to pull my modest display down (indeed I added the rest of my scarves at around 3am on Sunday🍷🍷🍷...) But I recognise yours is a more challenging conundrum*, WCW...

(*Speaking of conundrums, WCW, I haven't forgotten the 'Ziggy' we're due to collect Round 1 next year! And now it might include a flag unfurling as a bonus!)

Took a bunch of scarfs into the office today and made everyone in my team an honorary Melbourne supporter for the day, much to the disgust of my boss who's a Lions/Bears fan from day dot, but even he took it in good spirits.

GO THE MIGHTY DEMONS!!!

You've got the dream quinella. A Premiership and a visit to an office while many of us are in lockdown!

I'm not sure if this is a fair guide, but there are still plenty of homes around me that still have black and yellow fences, gates, etc. I'm not sure if that's because they won three of the last four or because being Richmond supporters, by definition they are just a bit stupid.

One of my new favorite lockdown activities is trying to spot Demon flags and other items on my daily 5km radius walk. I seem to live near quite a few Melbourne supporters. Our front yard has had the Melbourne flag up since post round 23!

You would have to walk a long way to spot me on my daily walk I usually wear one of the many scarves I have accumulated over the years, especially during the many frosts we get here. My front gate was festooned with them. Yesterday I might have done a "Sheedy" a couple of times

Yes, It could be worse We have the Rugby League followers up here who seem top hate Aussie rules and won't miss an opportunity to "enhance" our decorations.

Nor have I forgotten! I’ll be there for Round 1 and I’ll be bearing a couple of “Ziggies” as promised.

And I’m definitely leaving my decorations up ‘til November 1 much to the (likely) chagrin of my Bulldogs neighbours. Sorry (not sorry). 🙃

I'll take mine down next Sunday morning, exactly one week later than I thought I'd be taking it down when we were three goals down in the third.

Until the second week of Jan, just like the xmas decorations.

My painted driveway will stay in place until the paint naturally disappears.

I’m gonna leave mine up for a while. I’m crazy.

Love the user name update!

I reckon wait til it's time for Christmas decorations and then have a 'red and blue' theme for those. Seamless.

I'm actually going to leave mine up for a bit longer and in fact I'm getting another poster to put up next to the one on the front fence that says 2021 Premiers. That will stay up until I get sick of seeing it, which may be never.

I've waited for such a long time to be able to say that, I think that leaving it up for a while is within my rights.

Got my posters up yesterday & next plan is to put a spotlight under the flag to illuminate it at night. It can be seen flying during the day 500m away from down at the corner of my street. 😁

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
