What does it say about our society when there is a Highway To Hell but only a Stairway To Heaven?

Whilst on the subject of music, this is how the yanks are dealing with COVID currently. This was our tune to run out to this year, how I’d love to see the G rock like this…

Holy cow, THAT's a welcome to the stadium.

Love it.

How could it be anything else?

All fired up- Pat Benatar

This is our whole season’s theme for crying out loud

P.s. it was VFL’s theme for 1988. We made the grand final that year too

Although this is good too

Don’t stop believing-Foreigner

I think we can relate to the message in this tune given our irrelevance for the last 57 years (and brought to you with huge dollops of glam, cheese and 80's perms)

The greatest cover of this song ever and an apt tune for this time of our journey.

Hip hop just helps me get through life in general.

I worked with Wu Tang and The Beastie Boys when I lived in the US. I shot a project with Wu Tang, and it was the first time they’d all been together since ODB’s funeral. So many crazy people in one room, and more baby mama’s than I’d ever seen. Good times. 🤣

I’d rather this thread be opened if we get through to the GF.

However, if the theme is general ‘fire up’ music, nothing beats Sirius.

Nice. Intro music to the starting lineups for the 1990's Chicago Bulls by the sound of it?

Correct.

It’s also the original entrance theme for legendary pro wrestler, Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat. It’s near impossible to find a video with him coming out to it thanks to Vince McMahon being a tightarze and not wanting to pay royalties.

Is Kozzie Pickett our Ronnie Lott story? Maybe May actually.

Kozzie seems abit quiet to be Ronnie Lott.
Jackson could be our Dwight Clarke.
But May is the crazy bloke that shows up to breakfast fully kitted up 😅

Can't believe this classic hasn't been posted yet.
More relevant now than it was then.

Can't say I have a particular favourite or go-to song; it's more a case of what I feel like at the time.

Last night it was Beck, Weezer and Alex Chilton.  Tonight will something entirely different.

No matter what your choice however, it beats listening to the appalling TV commentary.

Nice choice, ‘Stone.

Some Demon-infused offerings would be David Bridie’s bands, My Friend the Chocolate Cake, and Not Drowning Waving; and Mackenzie Theory fronted by Rob Mackenzie. TISM with Ron Hitler-Barassi out front would also provide “suggestion of Demon”.

Not to mention Humphrey B. Flaubert, brother of Demonland's own Colin!

I can’t express how jealous I am of you. That would have been off the charts crazy.

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.

The Demons return to town fresh off a thumping win over the back-to-back wooden spooners, the West Coast Eagles, played in front of a sparse crowd at Marvel Stadium, the same venue that hosted last week's heartbreaking loss.
