Did anyone see the pre promo that Channel 7 had going? It was mostly around the Norm Smith curse.

It was very spine tingling and was a pretty power video.

Did anyone see it and can anyone upload on here please?

I saw it and thought it was pretty good. Funny that the Lions didn't get 'equal time'.

I'm hardly a superstitious person, but if we win this year's flag, I might believe that the curse is/was real.

How long has it been since we won our last premiership - 57 years

How old was Norm Smith when he passed away - 57 years

Spooky...

Interesting as well that Norm Smith coached Barassi, who in turn coached Blight, who then coached Goodwin. It's as if Norm Smith passed his coaching ability down the line and it has finally returned home to Melbourne.

Not sure how many follow Cathy Price on instagram. (Brad Greens partner) If you jump on her instgram she's uploaded a video of him in tears watching this exact video.

Not only does this mean to the supporters but we forget it means just as much to the past players of the club ❤

Who was on the committee that sacked Norm Smith?

The MFC was part of the MCC at that point and so it was the MCC Committee that sacked Smith I believe.

Both fantastic Promos, but Ch7 got me teared up, we the older folks.
but kudos to both

You guys would understand the Norm Smith impact more.

For us that weren't around at that time I think for the first time watching that promo made really realise the impact it's had on this footy club.

You’re right Daz. I was too young to remember the actual day Norm was sacked, but it was still big news as i got older during the 70’s.
Imagine if Hawthorn sacked Clarko Mid Season 2016

It was a HUGE Story

The MCC Board did it…

2024 Player Reviews: #39 Koltyn Tholstrop

The first round draft pick at #13 from twelve months ago the strongly built medium forward has had an impressive introduction to AFL football and is expected to spend more midfield moments as his career progresses. 2024 Player Reviews: #42 Daniel Turner

The move of “Disco” to a key forward post looks like bearing fruit. Turner has good hands, moves well and appears to be learning the forward craft well. Will be an interesting watch in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #13 Clayton Oliver

Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. He carried injury right through the back half of the season and was controversially involved in a potential move during the trade period that was ultimately shut down by the club. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

Melbourne’s most important player who dominated the first half of the season until his untimely injury in the Kings Birthday clash put an end to his season. At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury. LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres
