I've got a problem, I don't have Kayo currently, relying on Foxtel for fox footy (long story). I turned on this morning right at the last quarter and have been IQ rewinding back and watching again repeatedly but now I can't change the channel because I'll lose it!

1st world problem of the highest quality.

Bin your Foxtel subscription and get Kayo and Binge. Much cheaper and much more modern. Depending on your tv model you may need a Apple TV / chromecast device.

Whoever was on Dangerfield in the final quarter well done. I did notice he was on the bench a bit but to keep him to 0 possessions is a huge win for us.

On my TV look like Selwood was on him

10 year ago in one of the last games of the year Geelong beat us by 186 points. How much can change in time. Now we’re the party poopers

I reckon that win would have gutted cats fans.

It was theirs to lose and they are so used to winning at kardinia.

Oh well😁

Ok so have watched the replay a few times and am trying to make sense of the second quarter particularly where they kicked 8 consecutive goals.

I’m not prepared to accept that it was an anomaly and for the amount of times Goodwin has said learnings this and learnings that - there has to be a lot of learning there.

2-3 goals were pure @$$ Hawkins and Cameron goal line were massive defensive breakdowns.

There were about 4 goals however that were front of stoppage clearances, which says something about our midfielders. We were absolutely smashing them in Q1 here so not sure how this was able to flip the other way so quickly - then to flip back in Q4. The Lions and Power are a formidable stoppage team so we need to get this right.

I’m also starting to get annoyed with Lingers (shocking I know) but his dinky high , slow kicking into forward 50 are just pointless. I think he needs to either square it up to high HF for somebody else to make the entry or kick it to the top of square if there is not an out number. Usually the ball comes straight back out.

For sure CYB. The long story short is the living situation currently and there’s Foxtel here. Getting Kayo moment that changes.

Bbb may not be smashing the scoreboard( he's going ok) but he's certainly providing a target and stopping teams from intercept marks. Made a big difference I reckon since he's been in.

They can't give him any space and have to double team him

But Karma's a [censored]. that punch after it went over the boundary to again waste time was fitting revenge for the numerous deliberates against us not being paid. Great win Dees.

I reckon after the Brayshaw deliberate, the umps had an "oh [censored]" moment and that made them trigger happy for the 50, which (although in the rules) would have not surprised had it not been paid.

Gotta say it was strange danger was off the ground for so long in the last.

Old man needs his nap. Scott has been agitating for the finals bye for good reason.

Listening to commentary on the replay when you know what’s about to happen is just so rewarding. Darcy and Richo saying at 3/4 time that we’ll bounce back next week against Port. I’m just sitting here like…

As elated as anything by last night and still in shock but I feel bad my nerves got the better of me and for turning off the game twice.

First because I couldn’t bear it to see us get pumped in the 2nd. Second when the umpires nearly gave away the game with the Deliberate Out of Bounds in the final quarter.

I never leave a game at the G no matter how far we are behind but I guess with 2020/2021 I wanted to protect myself from suffering any more trauma.

I’m glad the Dees have again proved me wrong - just as they did when I thought we’d lost against North at half time earlier in the year.

I hope they continue to prove me wrong in September 🤞🏻

Darcy's a d&%k. I expected more from Richardson. When I heard them say that, I thought there was a big chance of egg on face. The momentum had clearly started to swing our way before three quarter time. Classic group think stuff.

LOL at the thought of Dr D having spent the entire match typing up as much vitriolic bile as is conceivable, with thumb hovering over “submit reply” button waiting for the siren, only to have Maxy rain on his parade. 😆

Geelong are cooked. Mentally scarred from that. Will go out in straight sets.

For those of you wondering if watching the full replay is worth it. It is.

Couple of take aways from the second time around:

Kozzie looked on, and was very agile around stoppage.

Lever was ridiculously good.

Oliver is the player you want when the chips are down.

Max was exceptional after half time.

Tom Sparrow is a great mark for his size. Needs to work on his foot skills.

Brown did what he needed to do. Spargo the same.

Tmac and May will be better for the run.

The big takeaway - Standing up in tackles is the way through a teams defence at stoppage. It’s frustrating to watch players get caught with the ball, but clearly both sides know to take the heat and draw players in so you can get them on the outside. I think this is why Viney is viewed as integral to our game plan.

Viney was back to his manic best. He's got his faults but the bloke would run through a brick wall in big games. Some amazing smothers and chasing.

I love Kozzies work and just watching him play but bloody hell Spargo is underrated.

Two goals in the last QTR. He's our smallest player and he tackles like a man posessed. I remember kids like that at school. They were small and they would hit you like a freight train. Charlie has a point to prove. He's not flash but he's as hard as nails and super smart.

Best win ever! The lid is off and I'm going to embrace the next four weeks as something to really cherish with this team.

Go Dees and thanks to everyone on Demonland for their company.

Yes! The two things I kept yelling at the TV in the last was "run them off their legs" and "scar them"

Hamish said the Cats have NEVER been beaten when 32 points or more ahead at 3/4 time.

Until last night.

And as Jordan lewis said on Kayo , in the finals if the Dees are down by a few goals at 1/2 time they will still think they can win (as with the Lions game this season)

The cats now on the other hand  when being ahead  will think......

No, I think at least 50,000 of us were doing that exact same stance at that exact same moment.  Not many fully invested supporters would have remained in their chair while Gawn took that kick!

My favourite thing was athletic Jackson getting all those plaudits throughout the week, with Max throughout most of the year happy to take a small back seat to our young ruck prince. Final quarter of the season with a minor premiership on the line, and big Max goes into hold my beer mode, collecting three clearances and running through the centre as if he's a link-up mid.

The afl site will have full replay up today. No registration or fees required

Logic just wasn’t high on the agenda this morning I’m afraid Binman. All I wanted to do was rewind using the Foxtel remote again and again and again. I couldn’t watch it again soon enough each time.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
