Can someone work out if Geeling lose tonight what does that mean in terms of how many wins we need to secure top 4?

Lets not moz them

Selwood head high bump.

“oh he’s probably okay”

”accidental”

here we go again

Selwood’s (to me) should be closer looked at than Green’s. He ran past the ball, collected the player head high, it was pure luck he didn’t get him worse. The action should be looked at, not the result.

Absolutely rapt.

I backed the Giants in on the punt tonight, out of hope more than anything.
If we win we are back on the top 2 and maybe top if Essendon can beat the Dogs, which isn’t beyond the realms of possibility.

Just quietly though, I’m not keen on finishing top. Stats show teams that finish 2nd or 3rd and in that qualifying final go on to win the premiership.

Christian will show his very rare moment of consistency - consistently letting Selwood walk free.

I just want to finish on top of any of the interstate teams such as Port, to avoid a possible away final.

Not sure if it makes a difference dazzle ...we may move to second but lets assume cats beat us in the final round..they are still above us and are chances of top four remain the same. Our destiny is in our hands. It could mean top two for us if we beat the cats though. I think we still need two wins for top four in case Swans storm home.

Although after watching this we shouldnt assume😁

Note to mfc...bring the pressure to Jeelong.

Giants setting up well behind the ball, tackling like tigers and TG on fire up front. Geelong ain't getting back into this

Yeah fair point mate.

Goes to show that any team can put on a show if they bring intensity/pressure.

Hopefully Giants crash Geelong's percentage

Ideally we finish top and play Port finals week 1

Friggin Geelong - appealing for deliberate OOB when the ball didn't even go out.  I guess they thought that the crowd (BT says there is a crowd) would influence the maggot.

Geelong are the walking wounded tonight, Giants have just lost Daniel but they should have the fresher legs.

The old Geelong 70 metre 50 metre penalty.

Geelong % won't matter to us (unless they manage a draw sometime soon).

FFS  yet another 50 m free shot at goal - the maggots should get the coach's award from Scott

Green a genuine high tackle (no even a Selwoodesque one) in goal kicking range ignored.

Edited by monoccular

Greens head pulled off no free

It shows how much the crowd would influence the umpires if they were screaming. Its just natural. i really hope we have an empty stadium

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
