Was Petracca turning around and waving to the feral Essendon [censored] in the crowd, who no doubt had been giving Christian some goal kicking advice. And THEN, when he kicks the goal, and gives him a great big smile and a wave, the Essendon [censored] appealing to the umpires saying words to the effect of "Can he do that?"

At least the Swans supporter with the huge hand who bagged Tom McDonald in the same situation had the class to clap him after he kicked the goal and acknowledge that Tom won that one.

You could add up may hatred for every other club together and it wouldn't even come close to my absolute loathing of every Essendon supporter on the planet, including my mother and 2 of my brothers.

There was something really ordinary about the Ess supporters

there was a lot of heated exchanges around me in the members with verbal insults

The Ess supporters barracking was extremely provocative

Anyway they left pretty well on the siren the booing was very bad and lasted all game

The double 50 almost caused a meltdown hhahhahahhahah

When may crunch tackled

Hit him so hard thought he folded him on half

Was like a lift tackle in the NRL

Can't show enough love for this beast he's stepped up big time this year

The one and only answer tell them what they’ve won Johnny!

Every Essendon supporter around me last night was just whinging the whole match about how they’re always the ones getting screwed over by the umps in every game.
I had to try so hard at times not to burst out laughing with how mad they were getting at every decision ?

You did better than me, I was pissing myself??

The absolute highlight for me was the double 50 metre penalty!

Not because of the penalty itself, nor the fact that it gifted us an important goal. No! It was because I was picturing the absolute apoplectic rage of the Essendon supporters and wishing I was there to see it live.

I didn't know whether to laugh, cry, or wet myself while dribbling Shiraz out of my nose.

And to think people say you shouldn't bask in the misfortune of others!

Sat on the second level of the members and mainly Melbourne supporters around us. A few of them were giving it to the "druggie" supporters nearby, but to their credit, never responded. I have never heard such booing at a match before. We were just laughing and comparing it what a West Coast match would be like.

I was in the middle of their reserved seating and was the only dee in sight! I didn’t dare stir them up ?

They certainly can complain.  I've always had Collingwood as the benchmark for loathsome supporters but my 19 year old son said to me last night "I don't get the hate for Collingwood fans, these guys are absolute intellectual minnows.  How is it you can hate Collingwood more than Essendon?"  I then reminded him his mum is an Essendon supporter!

Essendon supporters are the absolute worst. Anyone remember this classless display?

Highlight was walking away with the 4 points and a bottle full of Essendon tears

The word for it is schadenfreude

When Dogga tried to dribble that one through from about 15m out… drop punt son!!

As my bro would say.... ESSENBOO....

My version... ESSENBOOHOO

Not me, I embrace schadenfreude! However, please refrain from posting the descriptive regarding Shiraz being expelled from inappropriate places. You gave me a mental image that I'm struggling to remove from my mind.

Carried out her responsibilities with admirable diligence but a disappointing lack of fervour.

That sounds uncannily reflective of our performance last night!

As we were walking out of the ponsford essendrug supporters yelled 'you can thank the umpires melbourne' so I cleverly yelled back' essendon are a pack of whingers.' They stopped and turned around wanting to go on with it.....fortunately my 6 foot 4 inch 97 kilo (first ruck for Kew Rovers U 15 gold.......top of the ladder in YJFL) son was with me and one look at him and they were on their not so merry way. Ha! Enjoy Dees....Enjoy!!  Ha !

This. Having a particular fondness for the work of JJ, I called out “Have a shot, JJ!” Lo and behold, next minute he’s slotting it.

I knew he could do it, and enjoyed the sound of affirmation from the Bomber fans.

The Demon stalwart surpassed the number of his father's appearances for the club towards the end of the season. As he approaches his thirties, his pace is inevitably slowing, and he is likely to explore alternative opportunities beyond the team's midfield.

“Disco” took his time (four seasons) but the mid-season draftee has been a shining light of Melbourne's campaign, improving to become a versatile option at either end of the ground. He has great marking skills which allows him to play as a marking target up forward or an intercepting defender down back.

The skipper delivered another outstanding season, leading the team from the front, participating in every game, and earning club champion honours, while also securing an equal record eighth All-Australian blazer as a ruckman.  Max Gawn is arguably the greatest exponent of ruck skills in the history of the game; an exceptional leader who has guided the club to a premiership, through the challenging times that followed, and now into the next phase of its storied history.

It was a frustrating season for the former number 13 draft selection, who failed to build momentum in his second campaign; Tholstrup played only nine games, having been omitted twice and substituted out three times. However, he demonstrated promising signs in the midfield at Casey towards the end of the season, and big things are anticipated from him in the coming years.
