Mitch Brown well in mix to play senior forward. I would be flabbergasted if he played back

That's the thing though Picket where are they all going to play? It was likely a very tall side before they sent Weid back.

Well, selection at Casey just got even more interesting. I can see Jack Hutchins being pushed out but the question then becomes who plays down back. Mitch Brown? And regardless of W'dee's opinion I hope we continue to educate and develop Bradtke.

Hutchins won't be pushed out Bradtke will he won't be at the club next year.

so the side should look like this.

B: LOCKHART, HUTCHINS, JETTA

HB: BOWEY, J.SMITH, D.SMITH

C: DECLASE, MUNRO, BAKER

HF: VANDENBERG, B.BROWN, CHANDLER

F: BEDFORD, WEIDEMAN, M.BROWN

FOLL: DAW, JONES, MELKSHAM

IC: WHITE, ROSMAN, LAURIE, TURNER

Casey boys mainly playing suburban footy this round. 19 AFL LISTED in the Casey team.  (18 probably given 23rd man medi sub call up). Like to see Zac Foot still given a run.

Do pay attention, the team listed is Werridee's so we don't really know the make up of the Casey side yet.

I know it's my team but there will be 19 players they are all coming back except the knee rehabbers in Hore, Tomlinson and Neitschke. It will be interesting to see what they do with the regular Casey players in Foot, Grey, Sparks, Ellison and Machaya

Why do you think it's always about you?

Right so it is at Casey. So the next question is can we go ?

Yep restrictions ease midnight tonight. Should be allowed a crowd. Not sure of capacity. Probably 26.5% if you’re standing upside down with 3 masks on.

Lol, I count about 1077 games of AFL experience in that team give or take a few sub appearances.

Do you ever get sick of being wrong Werridee?

That team alone would beat Mark Neeld 2013 side.

I would go further to say that that VFL team would be better than a majority of the AFL teams we have sent out over the period between 2005 to 2015.

This team would put GOLD COAST SUNS to the sword and maybe NORF!

You’d expect at least two of BBB, Chandler, Jetta and Jones will come out as med. sub and emergency for our AFL team.  Jones and Jetta perhaps (?) given the absence of VFL over the last month.

Thanks KC that is some team we are putting out on the Park. That has to be the best VFL side that we have ever fielded. Go Casey..!!!

However, because Casey plays on Sunday, it’s possible for all players selected to take part in the case where the medical sub is not required.

@ KC love your work keeping tabs on all things VFL, any updates on how Bowey goes would be most appreciated, Am hoping he gets a debut in Seniors at some point, but know he is probably duelling with Spargo for a spot.

Woops!  Thanks KC.

Correct daisy.  This from the Casey website:  "Make sure that you get in early if, you'd like to come and watch the boys play Sunday, as we only have a limit of 1000 spectators due to COVID restrictions."

Apart from baring rather than barring!

Anyone else excited watching Casey today?

Some new faces playing their first games today in Kye Declase,  Daniel Turner and Bailey Laurie. Really intrigued in watching Declase who's been in very strong for Werribee this year and someone who's ready to step up when.called upon.

Brown, Weideman and Nathan Jones are 3 I'm keen to see in action as well.

The two lesser names I am interested in are Deakyn Smith and Rosman. I think they could both make it, on the little I have seen of them.

Today is probably an audition for BB and Weid.

I think we can forget the Weid Mr. Leg he will be elsewhere in 2022.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
