No we dont.

We do but there’s plenty of time to turn it around. We are not hitting targets or winning clearances. Luckily Pies are no better.

Sam Weideman and Tom Sparrow 0 disposal that quarter.

Why has the umpire in the middle of the ground called play on 5 times when no player has moved? It’s bizarre.

There was no buzz in that quarter but you have to expect Pies to bring some intensity

That doesn’t make sense that Langdon could do that kick.

He played on when he went to the left of the mark?

Seems that if you kick on the line of the mark, the run up can be from the boundary side

Poor game so far. Very disjointed, no rhythm. Trac looking most likely to make things happen. Clayton very quiet so far. He'll lift and get us going.

OLIVER GET INVOLVED!!!!FFS, THIS IS THE 2ND WEEK IN A ROW HE HAS PLAYED LIKE A VFL 2NDS PLAYER IN THE FIRST HALF.

FRISTCH HIT A BLOODY TARGET GOING INSIDE 50! JACKSON YOU TOO. FFS.

TERRRRRRRRIBLE QUARTER!!!

Sounds like a typical Weideman quarter.

But he got close to the ball

Standard Dees first quarter for 2021. It ain’t gonna work when it gets to the pointy end, not sure why they come out like this week after week (Dogs game excepted).

We need to start playing Melbourne footy. Wasn't it petracca that said we played boring footy last week in the 1st half?

We need to get going & start playing proper footy

We had 15 insides 50s and he was only used once as a target.

If that's a sign players don't trust him then I don't know what is.

Not good enough really

[censored] hell Oliver. that was 30 minutes of dribble. no work rate whatsoever. he basically didn't even get to any contests. let alone win any. you owe us now

Jackson, ANB, Jordan and May good so far.

Weeds hasn't got anywhere near the ball.

Oliver quiet.

Our first quarters have been so often underwhelming. We're ahead. Confident we'll smash them.

But only after the siren! Bizarre and stupid rule.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
