Jeez mate, get a grip. Who cares about the umpires. They’re the same every week, why let it soil the mood?

Just want a reasonable shake mate

Without two powerhouses in Viney and Langdon too.

Phenomenal second half. Some scintillating ball movement and pressure lifted.

McDonald petracca and Oliver fantastic

Tom McDonald's conduct after receiving that elbow to the jaw from Dane Zorko was exemplary. He pushed back and Zorko staged a fall. Macca then leaned over the prostate Zorko and told him the time of day. Effen AWESOME. After that the umpire awarded Macca the free kick and reported Zorko. MACCA...UNCOMPROMISING...TOUGH...ALL CLASS. Well done Tom McDonald!

He also offered him an arm to help him up

Petty was important, he gave McStay a bath.

Getting better each week. Could teach a few how to one-grab mark (Weid, ...).

GO the MIGHTY DEMONS!!!

I enjoyed that win even more than convincingly putting away the Bulldogs last week.

Clarry, Trac, Gawn, T Mac, Spags, Kossie & May were truly awsome in that second half, well supported by many others, as is now the Melbourne way.

Who cares?? It’s not like it made the remotest difference!

I'm speechless..

To the point of tears..this is what it's like to support a genuine top team of the competition.

Simon Goodwin you are the man. The boys run through walls for you and you deserve every ounce of credit coming your way. Went through a family separation and all the talk was he was next on the chopping block. Kudos Mr Goodwin.

Clinical kill!!

Clinical Kill. Love it!

So surreal.
I've been waiting 52yrs for the Demons to be this forken good.

Tmac leaned over Zorko's prostate?

Great fight back tonight. Midfield was getting dominated up to half time (Petracca aside). They really switched on on the second half and won the contest.

Our leaders all stood up and got us back tonight. For years we’ve had the talent but lacked the leadership. Now we’ve finally got leadership after years of searching and look at the difference!

The emergence of our roles players, the energy of our youth, and the consistency of the A graders has been absolutely supreme.

We can defend, attack and play tempo footy. We can be slick and we can dominate in close.

That was super impressive.

Make no mistake, one of the best Dees wins for a long time. Looked down and out at half time against a very strong Brisbane side. Kudos to them for the first half performance.

Which is why the win was so damn sweet. To come back and put on a complete 2nd half clinic was extremely satisfying. Love this team.

Yep, that second half was one of the best I've ever seen from a Melbourne team.
Saying that, we played so poorly in the first that we should have been 6 or 7 goals down but that's not the kind of team we are anymore.
In some ways that first half and only being down 20 points set us up.

When we switch on, we are just unstoppable now. Just an unbelievable team when we run hard.
This team is getting me so drunk this year.

Thinking about an 8 hour drive to the SCG next Monday.

Congrats to everyone at the ground tonight, you sounded great.

Odd feeling but even down I thought we had another gear.

And we did.

The moment they went short and wide I knew it was game over.

Brissy are sharp, and hit us hard. But it was unsustainable.

Too strong. Too dedicated. Too talented.

i love this team

Whatever happens this year you'll know the boys won't die wondering.
They are hungry AF.

Not sure he's the right guy! ?

I know we’ve had a lot of wins so far (I feel weird saying that!) but for me that is season defining. It’s one thing to win when everything is working the way you want, it’s a totally other thing to flip the narrative of a match against really quality opposition.

I haven’t been able to watch much of it due to poor internet over here but fair to say I’m really going to enjoy watching this replay. Looking purely at the numbers I love that we were able to flip the game in clearances and contested possessions. Given the year we’re having you almost could’ve forgiven the players at half time to say, “well this is just an off night” but they stuck their heads in and gave everything a red hot crack.

There has been plenty of occasions we as Melbourne fans have been utterly ashamed and humiliated. Today I couldn’t be prouder.

The Demons return to town fresh off a thumping win over the back-to-back wooden spooners, the West Coast Eagles, played in front of a sparse crowd at Marvel Stadium, the same venue that hosted last week's heartbreaking loss.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
