Jesus Godson?

Apparently his real name is Andy.  Andy walks with me, Andy talks with me etc.

His dad's name is Harold.  Our Father, who art in Heaven, Harold be thy name etc.

Sorry if directed at me Daisy.

i did get a tad political as the frustration of isolation forced from the B&F attendance got to me.

I am unable to attend a gathering tonight and those there will mock this as another reason not to barrack for Melbourne.

Like me most who attended will be vaned and have no symptoms and will probably be negative.

But we all get inconvenienced because this whole pandemic has been so appallingly handled by the governments, and mostly led by our PM.

I'll leave it there

Can I come to your Christmas party, it sounds like fun?

I haven't had my 4th vaccination shot yet but I can contribute to the conversation.

I might even ask who Leonardo Cohen is😂

Leonardo Da Cohen, famous Canadian Crooner who wrote poems and 'sang' them. He was born like this, he had no choice, he was blessed with the gift of a golden voice...

It's a very real possibility that we'll see these type of tweets relating to the AFL next year.

With this thing it's hard enough predicting next month let alone four months out.

Sadly though I think 2022 will be a dog's breakfast.

AZ may not be dead after all....just late which is the story of this seemingly cursed vaccine....

AstraZeneca has said that a third dose of its COVID-19 vaccine “significantly” lifted antibody levels against the Omicron coronavirus variant, citing data from a new laboratory study.

Findings from the study, yet to be published in a peer-reviewed medical journal, match those from rivals Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, which have also found a third dose of their shots works against Omicron.

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/12/23/astrazeneca-says-booster-jab-works-against-omicron-study-finds

So are we going to see AFL games compromised due to player withdrawal from infection, in the same fashion that EPL has and other codes in other countries? Apologies if already discussed but i thought it was worth raising.

Merry Xmas to all at Demonland

Back to Back lets go.

Fifteen top-flight matches postponed after December outbreaks

I don't really get the rationale for players having to sit out unless they are too unwell to play. Theres tens of thousands of cases a day, it's not like having players sit out or games postponed is going to stop the virus spreading. The cat is out of the bag, we have to learn to live with it now. Constant cancelling of sport/school and lockdowns shutting down businesses and putting lives on hold indefinitely is not the answer.

We already are helping the Solomon Islands.

Problem is we can't give them money to help themselves as Solomon Island politicians are world renowned for their epic levels of corruption when handling public funds. Lived there for 4 years and witnessed it first hand.

We are doing enough for the Solomons and I suspect PNG also.

yes FD lets not let facts get involved in this discussion

Spoils the narrative by some

I hear you and agree. However this strain spreads so easily that it gets out of control and hospitals can’t cope. We should be building more hospitals. Ireland tried to live with it but have now restricted all pubs and restaurants to closing at 8pm Just before Christmas

There are some on this site who I suspect would be satisfied with just that approach.

All I can say is lucky Dr Gonzo is not my GP. As for you, FD, well, what can one say about a man who believes keeping everything open will make a virus disappear.?????

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
