Ladbrokes made the dogs $5 fav for the flag and us at $5.50 , today they revised that and we are now clear Favs at $5.00 takes a bit of money to do that.

Is anyone else watching On the Couch tonight?? I tuned in, hoping to get a snippet or brief mention of our win on the weekend, but couldn't believe the 7/8 minute intro that brought a premature tear to my eye. This is building beautifully.

Any-one got a link or something so I can watch it.
Have tried looking for something myself and can't find anything.

I'm now seeing someone on a regular basis to help me through this situational happiness.

Don't rejoice in silence people - seek help as I've done.

Hey Fork, just type 'On the couch 17/5/21' into YouTube search, and the show is there in full. Enjoy.

I'm not sure where we can meet for a Demonland gathering (annoying question inserted here: what would be the collective noun for a group of Demonlanders? You know - a murder of crows, a mob of kangaroos, an asylum of Pies fans etc...) but I have a few good places to avoid:

  • The pub with no beer
  • The Salvos in Bourke St
  • The Windsor High Tea rooms

Some petty part of me would love to meet on Gosch's Paddock, walk down the road in huge numbers to the Pies headquarters and throw frozen pies over the fence onto their training track. Or cross the road and throw burnt cards and microwaves onto the Punt Rd oval.

Yes, it does feel rather pleasant to be a Dees man at the moment.

I’d like to see this as a new culture for our fans. No more self-depreciating behaviour, no acceptance of failure, no more badmouthing our club, no more suggesting that we should have merged. I could get used to this

I have an idea where we could meet to celebrate on rhe Sunday after a grand final win.

Like other clubs they will celebrate at their home base. We could all go out to Casey wirh all the demon fans.

If we all wear dees colours we will be able to spot each other

Tbh we really haven't been fully tested this year. The up coming WB game will be a true insight into where we are at and how excited I will get. At the moment I'm still kinda waiting for it all to fall apart as soon as that first loss occurs, I don't want to feel this way but I just do.

In the immortal words of Jon Bon Jovi...

“Lord we got to keep the faith.”

Or was it “we’re halfway there, living on a prayer”???!

It all evens out in the end, doesn’t it?

In 2013, we had people unbelievably telling us that things weren’t really as bad as they seemed. (Note: It really was)

In 2018, we had some people coming out and saying that the losses to Richmond and Hawthorn were as bad as anything Neeld ever produced (Note: Watch the entire Seven broadcast of 148 and tell me if you think that’s the case), and that Goody’s tenure should be questioned from that moment onwards.

While there were outliers, the truth about those eras were eventually revealed. As will the truth about this era.

Should we continue to win, there will be no room for conjecture.

The Richmond game was not a disaster we were within a goal or two until a Tiger 5 goal last quarter made the final result look that.
we had held them to about 8/9 goals at 3/4 time and our defence ( which was under performing like the whole team vs Hawks ) stood up well.

So then we played about a quarter and half of average footy vs Bombers at Marvel then Tommy Mac hit the scoreboard and we didn't look back on a 56 goal win.

Eon every game by big margin till Pies gave us an outside running wake up call on QB.

We started to realise then too many inside mids and bees around the honeypot and  it's taken till this year to solve most of those issues.

Just wanna throw some love Demonland’s way. I have learned SO much from DL. I’ve learned which wine is best paired with Beef Bourguignon, where (apart from Aldi) to buy the finest snow gear. That sort of thing.

JK. (Sadly not JK) ?

Seriously though, I’m the first to admit I don’t have a ‘footy brain’ and not for want of trying. From a technical perspective I probs know more about cricket than footy. (I guess it doesn’t help that footy rules seemingly change every five minutes.) Truth be known, I’ve learned more in a month from DL than I have in how ever many years from the ‘experts’ in the media. Besides being super-informative DL-ers are infinitely cooler (and funnier) than most of those chumps. And on top of all that, my vocabulary has grown exponentially; for on DL  I’ve come across the odd hapax legomenon. Look it up! It’s Dictionary.com’s word of the day today. ??

Perhaps the bake was needed. It was certainly justified.

I feel like we would be entitled to the entire CBD and would hope for levels of disruption to match Ajax's '95 Champion's League win...

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
