Agree Chandler looked a mile off. Sparrow to replace him

I reckon we need to give Chandler a run. Loved his over the head handball to Spargo for a goal. Dropping him after a week won’t be great for his long term confidence.

In a winning side, playing against a lower side, Chandler gets another week to find the pace of the game.

Melk was sub, so needs to perform at Casey to push back in.

Chandler another week unless Viney is ready ahead of schedule

Chandler has to get another go. But if Jackson is fit - who goes?

I was all for getting BBB but he is slow and very clumsy at ground level.

Yeah does LJ come in for Weid or Brown or Chandler?

No change. You can’t drop a player after one week.
Viney needs to be 100% against the Dogs.

Any idea how far off Jackson and Viney are?

no change, unless those guys are fit.

if they are

Chandler, Weideman out

Viney, Jackson in

I liked the idea of Chandler but I think he makes way for Sparrow.

It will be interesting to see if Jackson is available because I did like what Weideman brought to the team.

IN: JACKSON AND MELKSHAM

OUT: WEIDEMAN AND CHANDLER

I'd be tempted to move Tom McDonald up to the wing, get Brayshaw into the middle to help with Clearances and keep Weideman, Jackson and Brown all forward when Jackson is back

Yep. Move our best forward by far out of the forward line. Brilliant.

I expect Chandler to be given 3 or even 4 games. It seems consistent with Goodys changes. The only difference was when Mitch Brown came and went and Id say that Mitch was well aware of his backup position. Id also think that Majak would be under no illusions if he got gifted a game. Different for youngsters and seasoned veterans.

Given he regularly played on the wing when he dominated in 2018 and spent the entire pre season training for that role i'd probably look at knowing what i'm talking about before getting too sarcastic ?

Viney and Jackson are best 22. If fit they both come back in.

i thought the Weid was competing with TMac. Reckon its actually one of the Weid or BB.

If the club consider Chandler best 22 potential then he deserves another go.

I think it best we go no change unless Viney needs a game before we play the dogs

Nope sorry, l don’t think you do know what you’re talking about

Actually you don't know what your talking about.  Firstly he didn't play on a wing in 2018 except for brief periods he played as a permanent fwd.

Secondly Goodie has stated ad nauseaum at every presser that McDonald will stay forward & not go anywhere else.

And move Lockett to CHB and Hudson to full back.

I'm shocked how controversial this is, McDonald trained during the pre season as a wing, his strength was his ability to run hard forward and provide a target. and also push back and help the defense.

he's doing something very similar now, it's just his starting position is slightly different, he regularly pushes right up the ground and runs forward hard.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
