Like most games, this will be won in the midfield. We canโ€™t allow ourselves to be beaten at centre clearances like last week. As good as our backline is, we canโ€™t concede that many inside 50s against the blues. They have a bloke leading the Coleman and a few others capable of a day out.ย

Agree. Canโ€™t let McKay have easy entries. Surely we donโ€™t play the centre bounce so poorly 2 weeks in a row.ย

A little nervousย about the pasting Carlton have received this week from the media. They will likely come out fired up.

But I just watched the replay fo Carlton v the Dogs and Carlton are really poor without the ball. The Dogs run in front of the ball a lot as they expect their mids to win it. That makes them ย really vulnerable to turnover but Carlton simply couldn't put enough pressure on them when the whips were cracking.

Cripps is playing injured and there isn't much there other than McKay to worry us.

Loking forward to us putting 4 good quarters together for once this year....

Like to see our boys come out and play will full intensity and intent for four quarters, irrespective of what the Blues bring. Doย that, and we'll win (easily) and hone the skill we'll need against the bigger boys later in the year.

According to Simonโ€™s Theory of Football Evolution a goodwin is achieved by establishing a strong team work ethic defensively and minimising feeding (scoring)ย opportunities for the competitor organism (team).

The foundations are laid according to this theorem;

By choosing the best available team (without fear or favour) by naturally selecting players who match and exceedย the competitor teamโ€™s capabilities.

Red tooth and claw orย ? let the Princess Park pretenders bleed ? and blue this afternoon.

Article in the little paper where Mick Malthouse compares Carltons list to Melbournes list and saying they are very similar.

He then goes on to compare the stats of a number of players including comparing Pickett with Marc Murphy suggesting Pickett's only look better because we are winning.

Seriously.

Someone should take away his crayon.

Gerard onย 360 said that May needed the scalp of McKay today in order toย be seen as sitting alongside Andrews, Moore and Weitering in the elite fullbackย club.

Althoughย that isย garbageย as he already sits comfortably alongside them, and itโ€™s one game, if thatโ€™s what he and othersย needย to allow him into the elite club then so be it.

Iโ€™ll take a win and Maysie giving Harryย a nice bath.

ย

So McKay kicked 6 vs lions a few weeks back and 4 vs piesย does that ruleย out Andrews and Moore for aa lol, this guys logic is so flawed. If Mckay kicks any less than 4 thenย by the same logic May is better than bothย

So hoping win the this and next which are both highly likely.

To be eleven zip against the dogs might get us across the line with them.

The dogs are an exceptionally good side.

Which worries me that carlton almost beat them but I guess north gave us a run for our money.

I really dont think we have hit our strides as yet. We have taken some big scalps but looked tired last week.

As good as it is to have different players step up each week while others are quiet has been good but Im waiting for blinders played by most of the team in a game.Ie max, kozzie and Fritta were down last week.

I want to see every player have a ripper and when that happens we will serve notice.

It may happen today. No issues with our backline so its up to the mids.

Swans bathed us in the middle so if we fix this we have a powerful forward line that can kick 100 plus in three quarters.

Dont forget we have Tmacย  back to his best form...bbb one of the most succesfull ffs in the last four years....Sam W who is a huge smokey...Fritta who bagged six two weeks ago...Some great crumbers in kozzie...spargo..and maybe chandler. Trac and Max to add some more music and wow.

Just win the centre please lads.

..

Hoping its starts today

Go dYou good Demons.

ย

Have an awful feeling about today. I ย Really thing the blues have not been as bad as people making them out to be,ย they are due a big scalp and I donโ€™t think we have been playing top level we just seem to be wining the arm wrestle each week.

My 90 year old Mother had a fall on Wednesday, and is now in Box Hill Hospital. I am now on my way to the MCG after visiting her on the way. CARN THE DEMONS.

As long as you get to the game Ditcha. That's the main thingย ?

p.s. hope your mom's ok

Carlton are better than almost everyone is prepared to admit.

Their losses this year are to Richmond, Collingwood, Port, Brisbane and the Dogs. The Collingwood loss in hindsight is bad but the other losses are to top 4 contenders. And there were periods in all four of those games where they looked the better side.

At some point this year it is all going to come together for them across four quarters. If that happens today and we're not switched on, we'll lose.

If we concede centre clearances the way we did last week we'll concede more goals, simply because Mackay is better than anyone Sydney had in their forward line last week.

But if we apply the level of pressure we know we're capable of applying, their skills can go to water, and when they turn it over they're terrible at defending in transition.

If we're switched on, we win, but I can't help but feel this is going to be a nerve wrackingly close game all day.ย

Very nervous going into this one. We are due for a loss soon and they're due for a big scalp.

Think we might just turn it on today. Dees by 52 points. Kozzie & Brown 5ย goals each.ย

My prediction is chandler will turn it on. Possibly undetestimated by blues.ย

Great selection and opportunity for the uoung lad.

My son's U-11 side have lost every game so far this season, until this round where they hadย a thumping 10 point win.ย ย While I'm a manย of science and know jinxes are rubbish it's made me nervous.ย

To offset that I am changing things up and drinking beers at a brewery rather than at home....Go Dees!

Says more about North than us.

Unless they beat the undefeated team ?

Always apprehensive before the bounce as no game is easy in this competition.
But today weย placeย another brick in the wall.
TMac, Brown and Weid toย beย a Carlton nightmare.
Important thing is to getย through with no new injuries.
Can't win flags unless your list is fit.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
