I cannot recall any incident.

Anyone else?

Saw it on the replay. It's a bump in the first quarter that slides up and grazes Franklin's chin.

$3000 fine is a farce. Payback for Fritsch somehow getting off?

Nope. None at all. AFL in fantasy land again!

What a joke. So 3k but 2 for early guilty plea. So if he pleads not guilty is there a chance he can get off and only risk 1k?

Yeah they showed it on the coverage his arm slipped up buddy's oiled up biceps and hit him in the the head.

Rampe get anything for this incident? extremely dangerous https://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/dane-rampes-dangerous-act-against-melbourne-caught-on-camera/news-story/6596bb7545b4d50ff8453b89c9f03191

Laughable that was pure luck that saved a potential spinal injury. Shocking yet unlike May nothing. Extremely dangerous

Footage at the start of the game shows Bud getting oiled up like no tomorrow.
No wonder the arm hits the upper bicep and slides up.
Id challenge that if I was May.

Yep apparently throwing Langdon on his head is play on.

What about Hawkins work?

They mentioned it three times on the tv coverage after it happened. I knew he'd at least get a fine because that's the way the tribunal works. The commentators cite the players.

Just ridiculous. There was nothing in it.

How much did Hawkins pay for breaking May's eye socket?

I was asking if may doesn't accept the fine and challenges, but is still found guilty, does he only risk the original 3k fine or do we have to pay another 10 like for the fritch challenge? Hawkins incident is irrelevant to that question I would think.

Saw it and buddy went down like a lead balloon trying to milk a free which didn’t come.

I have been hit harder by my 8 yo and stayed upright.

Absolute joke of a charge.

Absolute joke of a charge.

Sydney have some absolute Oscar winning players in their side. So many dropped shoulders.

I thought they played 'on the edge' all night. A bit of hubris which probably comes with the turf.

Even as a top side, the opponents "make us earn it", with little protection from the umps.

Teams seem to go after us physically, not accidentally, like May's.

I say, good, use that to inspire us, "go to war", "them and us", "no prisoners", get angry and hostile.

We have become the hunted and need to flex our muscles.

Though our best players need some protection. Oliver, Gawn, Langdon, Tmac, wished they try it with Tracc, May or even Sparrow or Sparg's, our bigger bodied players or those that are a bit hot headed. See what happens to the snipers. We have to lose the mantle of a soft team. Imagine an Essedon or Richmond team taking it like us? I just can't. Sometimes being professional isn't worth it, unless the umpires get active.

Some teams will really try and rattle us. We need to be prepared.

Thoughts of having AVB as the med sub and get him on to fix some up,(joking). Aaron will get his chance, through, injuries and his form.

C'mon MFC admin, become whingers on Monday.

It was May...

I'm surprised he didn't get at least 4 weeks for that.

I mean he got a week in preseason for looking at someone the wrong way.

Buddy has been reduced to flop and stage to justify his place in the team at $1m a year.

If nothing happens to Rampe that’s a disgrace.

Although Fritsch was allowed to be hit behind play so it wouldn’t surprise me.

The commentators did not go on and on about the Rampe outrage - genuine potential spinal or head injury - nor the Fritsch behind the play hit, so Christian given his limited mental acuity wouldn’t even look at it.

He relies on the media to tell him who to cite.

This dead-set infuriates me. May can't look sideways at someone without copping MRO scrutiny. Buddy was oiled up more than the Alaskan coast post-Exxon Valdez. Initial contact was to the arm, not high. Should be treated similarly to when players duck to milk a high tackle - play on!

Maybe for the players own good it's time to ban oil on the arms...

You can see May's arm slip up on the oil.

How often do we see an oiled up Selwood slip a tackle, he puts gallons of that stuff on before and during a game.

For someone who doesn't have a rock hard scone like him it's dangerous letting the tackle slip up to the neck or higher.

Duty of care may well see oil go, at least on the arms and shoulders.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
