CHANGES: Rd 08 vs Sydney

Demonland

i'd still have harmes in ahead of sparrow especially with viney out we really need a presence tackling and speed out of the stoppage and a week in the twos should be plenty for a broken wrist so for me

IN: Petty, Harmes, Chandler

OUT: Tomlinson, Baker, ANB (lay a tackle son its what you're there for)

Weideman was clearly BOG IMO

Disagree. Number 32 was, in my view, best on ground by a mile.

Weed was good and worked hard. But he benefited from a woeful defence and the ball coming in under no pressure.

Missed some gettable shots.

And frustratingly applied little forward half pressure and I can't recall him laying a tackle.

Stunned we are brining in Petty. He was awful vs the Hawks. Every time the ball went to him in a contest he looked all at sea.

Sydney’s plan will be, kick it to who ever is on Petty. Tmac back and Weid up front should be the go.

Oh and Harmes in for Baker, Harmes plays Viney role, Brayshaw back to the wing.

I hear what you're saying regarding Petty but T.Mcdonald is just as shaky in defence so lets go with Petty back and keep Tmac forward where he plays his best footy.

If you mean Sparrow as BOG then I agree with you.

if you are saying harmes as the medi-sub (for jones) then not a good idea. harmes needs more game time

Really want to see Harmes playing. He has skills.

Tmac, Salem, Lever, Hunt have all stepped up to their best form. Harmes the chance to do likewise.

In Harmes, there is a bit of a tuff-nut against sides that huddle and break. His shepherding work is seldom seen overtly, but it is classy and effective, creating screens and handballing options for other Demon players. Harmes can use his body well, is difficult to stop when apace with the ball and has what can now be regarded as 'good experience'. It would be great if he could return to form and consistency.

Still struggling with the lack of love for Baker. Have watched the replay twice now and don't see the negativity. I would think his effort in the last qtr; 1 vs 2, makes the coaching team give him a big tick. On re-watching, his disposal was nowhere near as bad as some are saying.

he was only picked because the more obvious choices played vfl, so brayshaw took viney role and baker to wing

with brayshaw back to the wing, baker is not a viney replacement

Look at his decision making or super high lob kicks he does to team mates so opponents have a few years to get to the contest

He was awful in the first half but to be fair to him really looked a lot more settled in the second. Took good marks, had better positioning, i suspect his first half was nerves getting the better of him.

Agree, but the Hawks don’t have decent forwards, or team really. Sydney are much better and he can’t have gained confidence from his last game then being dropped again.

Very true Swans are a lot more capable of kicking a winning score than the Hawks. I would hope that Goody and Co would’ve said to him that being dropped for May is no reflection on his game. Should he come in now you would imagine he will be in there for a while.

1sr half he was very average but the 2nd half he started working better with back line imo.

I think he will be fine and has been training for this exact situation. Have faith G.

Maybe watch it again.....  Much like the whole back six, after Quarter time Petty was acually very good

Ok I'll bite, why is Brayshaw back to the wing? Is Viney back in next week?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
