Gee I hope us and the dogs keep winning and both go undefeated into that round 11 game. That would be epic

If the Dogs keep winning until this point they will nearly go through undefeated.  They have Tigers and Port  in Adelaide over the next 4 weeks.

The floating fixture must stay IMO You then get rewarded for playing well instead of waiting 12 months

I wonder whether the floating fixture has any costs? For example, do clubs lose money because they have far less time to organise corporate functions? Also, it's a bit difficult to judge because of the lingering social and economic impacts of the pandemic, but what would be the impact on interstate travel arrangements with a floating fixture? Don't get me wrong - I'm all for the floating fixture but only if it doesn't lead to too much lost revenue.

I really like playing Brisbane in Alice.  Local folks don't have an allegiance to them like they did to the SA or WA teams which didn't feel like 'Home' games.

I would expect they will be madly in love with Kozzie and he may even win some over to become long term Dees fans.  I can see lots of Dees jumpers with 36 on the back!

NRL used to name its Friday night games in six week blocks. All other games remained fixed. It was a reasonable compromise between the issues you raise and the need to ensure that the Friday night TV fixture was top drawer.

At the end of the day the totally floating fixture does little for crowd attendance but it keeps the TV companies happy which these days is very important.

I had a cheeky look at flights to Darwin.
Absolute lol at the prices of flights in Australia. I could fly overseas for less... except I can’t fly overseas ?

Flights to Alice and Darwin were cut back some time ago as well so not only do you pay through the nose in general but you pay a premium for flights at a decent time.  Make a road trip out of it Jaded.  Take a week off and fly to Adelaide for $60 then hire a car for the 3000 odd km round trip to Alice and back.  Unique experience. ;)

Maybe we can hire a bus and do a road trip? ?

Well done to the AFL for not scheduling Collingwood V Geelong on the Friday night over the Dogs and Dees.

Would have been a real lazy and "boys club" kind of scheduling.

If they would have chosen $$$ over spectacle then they may as well just get rid of the ladder and play a round robin competition all year between the Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon, Richmond, Geelong, Adelaide & West Coast.

Great result for us, a prime time slot also gives good promotion for one of our major sponsors in Tourism NT. It being at night means it will very likely be quite chilly, which you would imagine favours us, not to mention we have experience of playing the ground.

I will get there at some point but sadly not next year.

@Pates I hope London's opening up. I came back to Aus a month ago and it's so surreal and almost culture shock to be in a packed MCG. Not to mention the smashing of Richmond... Shell-shocked.

And now the emerging Blockbuster Demons. It's all worth the quarantine in itself.

They couldn't really as it would've been too many big games for Collingwood in a short period. I mean let's face it, their grand final is only a couple of weeks after then.

Very much hoping to be back in Australia for the latter part of the season, quarantine will be totally worth it to watch the Dees live at the G!

I'll drive the bus if everyone pays for my accom and meals (don't won't to put it out of reach by asking you to pay for drinks as well)

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
