Yeah it definitely was Tuesday originally, and I stupidly spent 15mins trying to buy a ticket at 11am this morning, until it clicked??. And I just ran into Big Maxxy at 7/11 Frankston, and asked if he knew where the game is going to be played, and he said whilst they don't officially know yet, he sounded pretty confident that the game will go ahead in Hobart.

how often do just casually just run into big max???

I did the same thing. My brain was going "IT'S 11:08AM WHY IS IT SAYING TICKETS WILL GO ON SALE AT 11:00.... oh, Wednesday."

Hey Wellsy, that was my first ever real-life encounter with the big fella, and I was very excited to see him in Frankston of all places!! He looked good, possibly had been out on the golf course today, and also mentioned that his family are heading down to Hobart to watch the game as well. He also said that the club had been informed that if Hobart was a no-go, and if for some reason Docklands was also a no-go, that playing the game in NSW was next cab off the rank??? Apparently to do with the fact that NSW hasn't put any restrictions on visitors from Perth but I'm not sure of this.

I'm surprised Jon Ralph is confident the game will be in Hobart according to those he's spoken to at North Melb.

I would've thought the obvious decision would be to move the game to Marvel given Tasmania's hard stance on their borders - not withstanding the fact that there's more of a chance of catching the Spanish flu down there than North spreading COVID.

I'm pretty sure the game will go ahead in Tassie. When Vic had its recent 5 day lockdown from the Saturday to Wednesday Tassie had reopened it's border to Vic by the Friday, two days after the 5 day lockdown ended.  For all of the political posturing the states are taking a fairly consistent approach and as long as Tas health officials are satisfied that there is minimal risk of any unidentified transmission originating in WA that could cause an outbreak in Tassie, then the match should go ahead and with crowds.

The unknown in all of this would be a politically motivated decision to keep border shut to sway voters, but I'm not convinced such a move would be popular.

Are you really Tom Morris breaking news like that?!

Why lead with Big max in the 7/11 when you could have said; "I heard from a bloke at the 7/11 that...."

That would have sent the thread into utter meltdown.

We are still allowed to call it the Spanish flu?

Thats weird as I thought calling covid19 the 'China Virus' was outlawed.    ?

Well I've tried calling the Spanish flu the American flu but no one listens. As you probably know that is where it likely originated but was hushed up by the allies and German governments for wartime public morale . Spain made the mistake of being neutral and not hiding it.

Yep next time don't reveal the source until a bunch of people like me have said something along the lines of - how reliable is your source, my second cousins best friends' barber told me..., source or i'll disregard etc etc.

And you missed the chance to make a joke along the lines of - sauce? i don't know. Tomatoe i assume. Isn't enough to know the unnamed player had a veggie pastie?

Surely now that the North boys will exit isolation at midnight, an announcement from 12:01am onwards will be made that the Hobart game can go ahead.

I just can’t work out the logic if the game can’t take place down there.

They are out of exit so they can practice their coughing for when the game starts to put the opposition off.

As long as they do it from a distance.  I'd be happy to see them far cough.

This is from the Tassie gov Covid website:

The Director of Public Health has advised that provided no evidence emerges of unmanaged community risk in the Perth and Peel Regions in the next two days, these two regions may be reclassified as low risk from midnight Wednesday 28 April 2021. This will restore quarantine-free travel to Tasmania for most people in and recently in Western Australia

Now back to my previous state of being less concerned about cancellation and more concerned about getting shizhouse seats again. The seats in front of the hill section where we sat last time are so low down my kids couldn’t see over the fence, and I barely could either.

You ‘G regulars don’t know how lucky you are. Some seats are better than others, but there’s literally no bad seat in the house there. I’ve never found one anyway.

I can tell you that our pre-game entertainment will be making sure we go in with full bellies, because getting food there is an exercise in “which quarter would you like to miss?” Followed by lining up for half an hour to get in.

I can’t tell you how much I hate this ground.

Don't forget the bizarre rule that you can't buy full strength beer but you can get spirit cans and wine! WTF

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
