I am so pleased we are 6-0.  I hope the ‘barrackers’ who are appearing from the woodwork with their year 2000 scarves hop on board and become members.  We need to convert onfield success into building our base so that we gain relevance and power amongst others.  I think some of the comments of the Richmond supporters carries true to a group of ‘barrackers’.  I would like to think those of us that have lived through the [censored] times are simply revelling in the moment, but not getting ‘arrogant’.  I’m enjoying what WE are doing to need to rub the noses of others in their own stink.

The aggression on the field is to be commended (so long as it stays within the laws of the game). So I have no issue, at all, with Pickett roughing up Mansell. Richmond were playing dirty all night: Edwards bumped Oliver late and hit him in the throat. A Richmond supporter near me said "next time hit him harder and knock him out". Every time Gawn got back in the hole, whichever Richmond player was coming up essentially made Gawn their primary target and the ball secondary. Their persona is typified by Tom Lynch, who is a top 10 dog of the competition, if not the number one.

Nankervis in particular was very guilty of being a [censored], i noticed every time he tackled he tried to drive the Dees player through the turf. Embarrassed he was embarrassed I guess but they tried to rough us up and we belted them on the scoreboard.

Agree with what you're saying though - passionate young kid who will mature in time. Just need to watch he doesn't overstep it in the meantime as I said, because the media narrative can quickly turn on him and like it or not, that can impact performance and careers. 

If a Richmond player had done this, we would be baying for blood and calling him a sniper. People were already calling Mansell a thug and sniper and he barely did anything.

You can watch the whole incident unfold on the VFL replay site. It shows Kozz trying to move and being held and blocked every time he moved. The ball, you'll recall, is on the other side of the field. This goes on for a little while and eventually Kozz thurns back and runs into the Tiger [censored] and lets him know he doesn't appreciate his attention. A nearby umpire has watched all this and done sweetFA about it. Eventually, his conscience gets the better of him and he awards a free kick to Kozzie. He then should have followed up with a 50 metre penalty.

Well i wouldn't call it fair 'Rodney', but having just had a look at the replay it was a cheap shot on the umpires blind side.

No looks like, or alleged about it, it was a punch that landed where he wanted it to land.

I didn't take note of when it was exactly but there was a close up shot of Viney having just been tackled. As Nankervis was getting up, he reaches over to Vineys arm and pinches him...  ?

My friend was meeting me at the game Saturday night and whilst walking some Richmond guys asked who she goes for (doesn’t go for either team so wasn’t wearing a scarf) she said Melbourne they then changed their attitude and starting saying oh you’re a Melbourne scum then. They kept going and she felt unsafe. They have no right to diss any supporter base as my family and I have had many problems with Richmond people in the past.

Tigers supporters soon pull their heads in once you stand up to them! They are flat track bullies!

I feel sorry for opposition supporters when they are humble and true fans. When you see their disappointed faces leaving the ground, it reminds me of how I have felt too often! But not when they are arrogant and aggressive. Those are not the true supporters!

I personally like that Kossie has an agressive 'take no prisoners' mentality and long may it continue.  I also liked seeing his teammates like Jonesy and Clarry come in and stand in his corner when things escalated as well.  No more timid MFC that the bully teams can push around and if we can do a bit of bullying of our own from time to time, then so be it, it's an agressive, compeditive game and it's about time we become the ultimate winners.

I've now watched the replay and the pile on was right. I was wrong. Kossie threw a baby half elbow that barely brushed mansell's chin, and then Mansell reacted by wrestling koz to the ground. And Kozzie post-goal was much less taunting than I originally thought.

I particularly enjoyed Bolton saying 'come on, come on' to Viney - like he would last 3 seconds in that fight. He then went and decked Oliver for the 2nd free. How good!

They have been a side that have pushed the boundaries of physicality if you like.

Great to see it didnt put us off our game.

I think Lynch was a liittle subdued by the fact that May and Tomlinson were not far away.

Nankervis tried to push our gentlemen Max about but Max was one of the BOG.

The throat punch on Oliver pretty much sums them up.

I loved Kozzie pointing to the scoreboard because he was right. Its the best response to poor playing and especially undue rough stuff....

recent history would actually suggest they are destined for a third flag. Brisbane and then Hawks both won three on the trot. No other team since Adelaide has gone 2 in a row to not win a third. Richmond should probably have 4 on the trot if not for some niggling injuries leading into the 2018 Prelim against the Pies. They looked GOAT level in the first 10 mins on Saturday. Their pressure when on is intense.

Statiscally, the odds increase to win a third one.

Just like the fact nobody has one four in a row.

Anyway, I guess Tigers fans have got used to winning. I was certainly happy for them as we Dees fans know their pain.

I dont expect tgem to be happy to lose but if there is a team one can accept being beaten by.....it has to be ours.

Ive gone off the tigers this year because I think they are the ones who are being arrogant. (And a tad dirty).

Alternatively, they’ve already had their four years up, 2017-20, for three flags and a prelim loss.

Brisbane had four: 2001-04, for three flags and a GF loss. 

Hawthorn had four: 2012-15, for three flags and a GF loss. 

tl;dr Melbourne's turn to break the drought.

You really should watch the replay in full bcause right now you look very silly.  Kozzy was trying to make a lead when the Richmond player round-housed him and hit kozzy in the head with his arm.  That was when kozzy retaliated.  Luckily the umpires saw the initial high contacted and awared the free kick.  During the wrestle, the tiger player was leaning on Kizzies face/head with his forearm which was got Jones wo riled up.

Kozzy isn't a sniper at all.  The tactics of the tiger overstepped the mark and he retaliated which is fair enough. 

The issue Goodwin had with him was the pointing at the scoreboard.

 

The Kosi issue is such a non issue, I can't believe anyone is turning it into an issue.

Replace Kosi with, I dunno, Dusty, and nobody even mentions it.

Besides, you have no idea what was said. The all in melee suggests that some less than kind words were thrown at Kosi.

Kozzie might not be a sniper but he's got a mean streak.
Watched alot of Uncle Byron growing up and if theres a chance to inflict pain during a tackle .... He will.
