Too many passengers today. We need a big big lift from Jones, Melksham, Viney (looks hurt in that last contest), JJ, ANB and Brown. You can’t have this many players doing SFA when Hawthorn are all over us like a rash.

Gee the negativity on here has gone to a new level. Calm down, long way to go, we maybe struggling, but they’re no better

technically it was Hibberd for May, and Fritsch for Petty.

I don’t think so. It was Hibberd for Jetta, Petty for May and Brown for Frisch.

We are playing poorly. What can you say apart from praising our max and lever and kozzie.

Mids look slow and i dont know who will kick our goals.

14-6

Out of context.......they are just numbers.
All were there. Many other numbers should’ve been added though

Those calling for Petty’s inclusion might not be so bullish about him now.  Very ordinary so far.

He is not so accomplished in defence IMHO.  Much better as a medium tall mobile forward.  However, with so many tall forwards in the waiting i can't see the FD rolling this die anytime soon so we will be left to die wondering this season me thinks.

where is our big time star ,drinking                         his own bath water  pull your head tracc and play team foooty

If we could take our chances in front of goal we'd  be 5 goals up. Just tidy this up and the 4pts are ours

Gotta lift, simple as that.

like to see jackson take a mark

2 marks. Uncontested. About 15 contested attempts.  He took 2 beauty’s versus Freo and not really any contested marks since. Gets to the contest but needs to grab a few more.

yea threw clarry, threw Kozzie punched spargo in the head

Hope he does similar in the next.  He has lost the plot means hawks are playing with 17 men and frost

Too many passengers today. Max, Kozzie and Lever the only players on their game. We need more from Oliver, Trac, Viney and Tmac. Ground ball work is sub-par. Not locking the ball into our I50. Come on Spargs and Nibbler.

Jones looks like an old man today. Pains me to say it.

The coaches will earn their wages at half-time. the Hawks will re-group and come out firing again.

A nerve shredder coming up folks

Salem ?

Need to tidy up, start consistently winning clearances and a consistent level of pressure

Let’s get some stoppage clearances this half!

Ive been saying this for a few weeks.  Needs to lose the Hollywood and just knuckle down.  Neither him or Viney are very good at threading the needle to hit up targets inside 50.  Just hit the hot zone quickly or shoot at goal if within range and put pressure on the opp either just outside the square or on the scoreboard pls.

Missing May, back line looks ... random. As for forward line, less said the better.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

  • PREGAME: Brisbane

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
