GAMEDAY: Practice Match vs Bulldogs

Featured Replies

Well, we aren't fitter, so if that was our ace-in-the-hole, it's a bust. As for the basics, we can't tackle, can't kick andย can't mark.

Anyone notice how many big, fit, strong, young blokes the Dogs have?

ย

5 touches to Vandenberg. Another one whose cooked. Even Bowey picking up more disposals

12 days for concussion so he should be ok

12 days would take us to about 5.30pm Saturday 20th. Our game starts at 1.45pm on that day.

Reckon he'd miss if it was concussion.

ย

not just missing tackles not even attempting to lay them.ย

ย

Same Lazy BS as last year and before anyone says it, doesn't matter whos playing or what we are playing for the basics of the game are still the basics

Haven't been able to watch any of this one.ย  Are there any positives at all coming out if this?ย  What's the score btw?

If the situation was reversed and we had our full strength midfield and you took out daniel, mcrae, bont and dunkley, you'd expect the result to be 6-7 goals.ย  Its about right given the talent out there.

Unfortunately, its about where our depth sits.ย  Our 16th-22nd player is essentially making up numbers again it seems.ย

Demonlanders wonโ€™t have any issues finding new whipping boys off the back of this performance to replace Omac. Goodwin will be high on that listย

ย

We can not and will not defend against teams who short kick to maintain possesion.

Making Tim English look like a leviathan of the game, FMD.

Our disposal has not improved one iota.

Our Forward line and entry into the F50ย is just pathetic.

Playing for draft picks again.

Wonder what Goodwin will say in post match presserย

LEARNINGS ??

Surely May will be ok for round 1. He walked off. Didnโ€™t seem like he was out cold. Should be fine.ย

No...Well one positive is Melbourne will win me more money this year as I betย against them everyย game.

TBF if they even do judge it like that it's only out by a matter of hours. Incredibly unlucky if it happens.

The Dogs have dominated the whole game. ย Sure hands and nice finishing everywhere. ย We have scrounged a few goals butย the Bulldogs have just played at aย higher level from the start. ย We are not going to finish in the top 4. ย
ย

I suppose this means Oliver is going to Carlton ?

Vandenberg, Baker, Tomilnson, Jetta, Jordan, Sparrow, Hunt, Bedford not up to it.

Bedford short pass on boundary hard into Harmes who doesnt run hard enough at it and is punched away from him. Harmes tells bedford kickย was F****.ย  It was a beauty.

EFFORT is non negotiable regardless of whoโ€™s in or out of the side.ย

Geez, these threads are a cesspool for the complete and utter donkeys.ย

Goodwin interview on the list demand for higher achievements & more than just making finals ... letโ€™s c if heโ€™s still there after round 10 based on this performance .., sure practice game but feeling is we are still way off any top sideย

i saw that too

harmes really comes across as a terribly arrogant footballer for someone who is fairly ordinary in the grand scheme of things

+1ย  ย ....ย

I've already put a few bucks on Freo at juicy odds. I think the odds with shorten after today's deplorable performance.

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competitionโ€™s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
