Laurie and Bowey look pretty ripped already eh.

Rosman with some weight will be a weapon.

How ripped is Trac looking, it's shocking. $ on him for Brownlow I think.

Petracca looks the same as last season. Not sure what you're looking at.

How many times have you seen Rosman play just out of interest?

Fraser Rosman has the potential to be an absolute beast. He has a similar physique to Paddy Cripps.

Rosman looks like he would be a very hard match up on the wing with his height and pace and Bowey & Laurie  look very zippy and skillful

Interesting the young(er) lads are bunking at other players houses inc Tmac and his wife and baby. It was billet families in times gone past.

How AFL players have grown from part time trainers and players getting on the booze every weekend to full time trainers on the booze most weekends to full time pro’s in the off season letting lose.

The club has done this for the last few years. They have draftees stay with a team mate for the first week or so. I assume it's for things along the line of getting to know a team mate as a mentor, getting some tips on routine and a chance to ask all the questions they might be afraid to ask without that closer bond.

Probably just cuts down a lot of anxiety about when/what to eat, when to wake up, what to pack, which way to drive and where to park etc etc. Given all 3 are from SE Melbourne they'll probably all go back to living with mum and dad next week.

Agree. Rosman is a huge athlete. Pace. Endurance. Size. Can’t wait to see how he develops.

Bowey and Laurie. I think JT went for the most skilful kids available at our picks. Perhaps they are the two most skilled in the draft. Good signs.

His 1996 and 1997 seasons were write offs due to the back problems... a real shame as he was at the peak of his powers having kicked 77 and 79 goals in 94/95.

His comeback in 1998 in Round 2 against North was one of my favorite Demon games ever.  He kicked 40 goals that season and helped us into the prelim final.

I still believe that Gary Lyon is hugely underrated by the footy world.

Also missed the second half of the 89 season and bits and pieces through the early 90s.

Is it just me or does Rosman have really big knees?

Why exactly DG?

Kind of scary to think he's four or five years away from having a proper AFL physique according to conventional wisdom.  The kid will be a monster.

We are so frustrating and can't be trusted.   It's not pleasant watching them, it's a chore.

As a long time supporter I'm tired.

Tired of not seeing them fulfil potential.

Tired of seeing them drop games they should win.

Tired of watching subpar skills.

Tired of having [censored] Robbo as the game day hype man.

Tired of seeing Trac, Clarry and Brayshaw not got back and take their time off the mark.

Tired of seeing Melksham give away stupid 50s.

Tired of not seeing the club hire a vodou houngan to calm the uneasy spirit of Norm Smith.

Tired of saying wtf happened to Tom McDonald

Tired of seeing spuds like ANB on the list

Tired of Greg Stafford being our goal kicking coach (pre-Choco)

Think of this as my MFC Festivus  - I got a lot of problems with you people!

Someone asked her for her negatives.

I thought there was some humour (festivus) in the reply.

You could ask her for some positive aspects, maybe she will give out some more laughs.

Stay with us @deegirl

This is the year (2021), fingers crossed.

I’m tired of nuffs who think criticising the club is a crime

I contacted the club today about going to Casey and what time training would be. This is there response.

Thank yo for taking the time to contact us.

The team won't be training tomorrow and at this stage their won't be any open training sessions. You can see training sessions when they take  place from outside the fence but you can't enter or approach players on their way in or out before or after training for photos or autographs due to the current guidelines.

So sorry Demonlanders I won't be going Friday. Hopefully in the new year they will have open training sessions.

Thanks for that, I think I'll still head down as i don't live to far from Casey and you can actually still see everything from behind the fence.

Thank you for your service.

Let us know how it goes and how much you can still see from behind the fence.

I'd love to head down before the Christmas break but not if it's comparable to sitting in row MM of the Ponsford stand. Apologies in advance to @Supermercado

  • GAMEDAY: Fremantle

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
