Have I missed something. "He has been recruited by the Dockers. Good on him." doesn't seem dismissive.  What do you expect? A binman style 3 part 20 page narrative on why OMac got picked up.

Yes, fair call.

Was a battler.

Foot skills were non-existent and it was always heart in mouth feeling anytime he was near the ball.

He will get some games at Freo because they are a rabble.

I have a memory of That Goal that Watts kicked against Collingwood.I think Oscar kicked or tapped the ball to Harmes who kicked it to Jack.

Am I feeling stupid.  Saw this thread and thought "Odd that's come up, where's the one for Marty Hore (insert internal LOL here)?".  Good luck to Oscar, he obviously likes playing by the beach.  Reckon Freo may be a bit nicer than Williamstown (no offence to the mighty Seagulls).

Good luck to Oscar, he looked to show some promise at Princes Park but was cut short by serious injury. Hopefully he has recovered and can give it another crack out West.

His back injury was pretty bad.

Had  stress fractures in his back for aprox 18 months which ultimately required spinal fusion surgery (after he left the afl system i think - certainly all the rehab was).

Impressive that he could get back to a level where he was named full back in the VFL team of the year and be picked up by an AFL club, particularly one that would be expecting to play finals next season.

Speaks about all that in this interview:

Apparently Brendan McCartney thought he was a potential AA defender.

I always thought he was under-rated by most Dee supporters.

Tall defenders are often the "whipping boy." Remember Alistair Nicholson?....he had a lot of detractors.

The classic was Kevin Walsh at Essendon. Their supporters game him real grief.

It was surprising that Omac was the best golfer in the club. The guy had unrecognised hand-eye co-ordination, that's for sure.

O Mac was actually a very good kick.

Also smart, or smart enough - would much rather Oscar kicking out of the back line than Lever or Tomlinson.

And straight into Freo's 22 for their first game. Good luck to him.

Game 87.

Will bring up his 100 games of AFL footy, an exclusive club, with only aprox 17.5% of all VFL/AFL players having achieved that milestone.

Life membership of the AFL too.

Good onya omac.

Give it a rest . He has probably worked harder than a lot of players . Good luck to him.

Besides he probably has more brains in his left foot than most of his perennial critics!!

Super

love to have a hit of golf with omac and hunty

bonne courage omac

id be ok with them winning it if we or the giants or suns can’t but pity Mundy isn’t still there

The problem with OM is that he was gifted lots of games before he was ready & was never developed properly.

Our brains trust was annoyed with Lynden Dunn & dropped him for OM.

If Oscar had spent 2 or more years at Casey learning his trade he would have been handy for us.

In his early days he badly lacked the confidence that comes with experience.

Became a premiership player and represented the Big V when that meant something.

Hope he goes well, was once one of ours and left on good terms. Therefore I only wish him goodwill.

There are some classless posters on here and a few who are clearly trolling

It's a pitty he isn't still in the Red and Blue really, I think we could be a bit thin for KP backs if May gets injured and our young guys in development don't come through.  Wounder how long he has left on his Freo contract and if we could actually lure him back?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
