  • Demonland changed the title to Welcome to Demonland - Pick 25 (Dees/Swans Pick Swap)

I guess that means we will only be using picks 25 and 28 in the draft

Who are we after guys come on you can say?

request to change JMs job title to the professional pick swapper. i love what he's doing with this he's clearly one of very few who has their head fully around everything going on. if we get richo to actually assess the list and target needs and impress signees then we're gonna be laughing in the next few years

JM gets a lot of hate here but he's a smart operator I reckon and doing brilliantly this year.

he does these types of things well but i think we're lacking in the ability to properly read where our lists at and whats on the market woulda loved another addition or two get creative, dont settle

Given we only have to use one pick at the ND, is it possible we're looking to send 25 and 28 for a first rounder?

Where has this been reported?  I have clearly missed it.  TIA.

Say what you like about how crap we are on field, I think off field we are one of the best clubs at getting trades done and taking full advantage of the system. We are very clever at trading for picks and once a player makes his intentions clear we always get the trades done with minimal fuss.

I believe clubs really like to work with us, and that also helps enormously as we are not in the business of screwing everyone over.

I thought it was three picks?

Changed this year due to the list size reduction.

Ok thankyou.

Do you know how many we can go for this year?

Absolutely Jaded, provides so much flexibility.

I'm happy to package these for Footscray's pick 14 but equally happy to use both picks in the draft

How does 25 possibly equal 31 + 43? Should be closer to pick 20 under any metric.

We are dead set kidding ourselves if taking two live picks in this draft is anywhere near enough.

I love that we traded pick 26 as part of the Brown deal, then traded to get a single pick ahead of that minutes later. Nice.

Haven't done all the maths of the ins and outs tbh, sorry!

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
