Yep, he has a massive upside will come cheap 3rd or 4th round pick.

He will be an upgrade on Preuss as he is more a forward that can ruck, rather than a ruckman playing forward

Would take him as a cheap option. KPF who can play ruck so improves our depth in our weakest list position.

I don't not want him per se, but we're looking at 2.7 marks and 0.4 goals per game here...

Handy for depth maybe, but unconvinced he's going to make us much better.

(For the sake of statistical comparison - TMac averaged 3.2 and 0.8)

Perfect

At least wth Ratugolea you will be getting his best years. With Brown you are getting a player who is past his prime and best at playing in a position which potentially no longer exists.

He needs time but he's got a future as a ruck/forward I think. He'd be a very nice partner for Jackson when he's the primary ruck.

But I don't think we should spend the resources on a player like that whilst Gawn is the number 1 ruck and Jackson is the support man.

Hit the draft and find the next Esava now so he's ready to go in a few years.

GWS really should grab him in the Cameron trade. He'd pair nicely with Preuss.

Is Daniel Cherny his manager?

Yes.

Whenever I'm watching Geelong, he seems to be playing alright.
Doesn't seem to be a ball-magnety and clearly I've missed the matches where he's stunk it up.

We need someone to be a big bodied replacement for Preuss.  Whilst he wasn't getting regular games, he was able to provide a contest in Gawn's absence.  I'd hate to see Jackson having to ruck entire matches at his age/weight.  At the moment, Tom McDonald would need to cover Gawn in case of injury, and if he leaves as well, then the need grows greater.

Would want both and Brown would be the priority

You have NFI if you’re comparing Ben Brown and Sava

Apart from slaughtering Lever in his debut game, I don't think I've ever seen him do anything of note. Pass.

Is that the day he had 8 touches and kicked 1 goal?  Massive slaughtering there.

He's just turned 22, so he's still young for a tall forward/ruck and has some good attributes to build with the right development. We'd get him for a 3rd or 4th round pick. He's worth that cheap punt IMO.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
