Will be leaving the pies this year. Could we be a chance to sign him? Would be a handy addition.

Why start a thread on this? Everyone knows his wife is moving to Queensland to continue her netball career. If anywhere Treloar will move the Suns, we a 0% chance, along with all other Vic teams, SA or WA teams. So he'll either stay for 12 months then move (if she gets another contract there) or move to the Suns this year.

He seems adamant that he wants to stay at Collingwood, and if he gets pushed out would prefer another Vic club. I suspect Collingwood prefer the narrative of 'family reasons' and trade him to Qld club for optics (and salary savings), but don't think he wants that.  Rest of his family & supports are in Vic. It's why he moved back from GWS. Would be funny if Tiges got involved.

Only way we could get involved is if one of our prime mids (& change) moves on. The win might be a shift of Carlton's focus from Clarrie.

You would have thought so, but Tom Morris (grain of salt alert) who is the one breaking the story suggests he doesn't really want to leave Collingwood and would only "begrudgingly" consider moving to another Victorian team.

https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-2020-afl-trades-adam-treloar-collingwood-gold-coast-brisbane-lions-kim-ravaillion-trade-news-talk-tom-morris/news-story/71fb040ad6795d36d3f76646929c4b68

FWIW he's a far better mid than he gets credit for, albeit he has dodgy hamstrings and is a poor kick. But he's fast and can torch opponents both inside and out.

No mate. He wants to stay in VIC. We are a chance, hence why I made this thread

That was my understanding too. Wants to stay at Collingwood. Wife's career in Queensland. Suns the best option in terms of trade value to the Pies. Could assist the Pies in terms of $$ available to others they need to lockdown.

As a result of most of the above we are not even a consideration or in contention.

Sorry hadn't seen that Morris report, just head what he, Eddie and his management had said earlier in the week.

Absolutely no chance.

Not even 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% of a chance.

be funny if he went to the tigers after what he said during the recruitment process to land at the pies

can't see him being anywhere other than at the filth in 2021 but stranger things have happened...

Doesn’t fill a need. Expensive. Injury prone. Pass.

Can the site be updated so only subscribed members can make threads or a mod has to approve a new thread started by a non-member before it appears? Or just an update so Elegt can’t one?

Woah. I thought you could respond to an appropriate topic with some logic, however appears you do not know how to discuss things without personally attacking other posters. Not one of your comments relate to this thread so jog on champ

I am shocked that the Pies appear to be pushing Treloar out, worse still while he has some years to go on his contract.

Players being wooed by other clubs, would have to be wary of clubs that do this.

PS. Don't mention us and Preuss, as Preuss is the one wanting to go for better opportunities, which we are happy to accommodate, if a suitable deal can be reached.

So you're saying there's a chance!

I believe this all stems from signing brodie grundy on a massive contract for 7 years, 1 million a year. Silly decision that has meant the pies are having to push some of their other A graders out

They are very dangerous contracts for clubs to enter into.

Buddy is just another example.

Good footballer but no chance of joining us.

He is a very good player and I’d love to have him. However this is all a media beat up. Slim chance he goes north. Zero chance of a Vic move

As we are all going to be based in QLD for the next 2-3 years, he can come to us and still be at a QLD based club.

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
