Can you play all of Brown, Tmac, Jackson, Fritsch, Gunston in the same forward line?

Gunston is an absolute jet but IMO we already have our Gunston in Fritsch. Gunston might be cooked as well he has missed the entire year pretty much with a back injury, which is pretty bad especially for an older player. I'd like to see Fritsch drift higher up the ground more like Gunston does, his field kicking exquisite, especially going inside 50 always lowers his eyes.

Agreed, I'd be looking for another small to pair with Kozzie rather than an aging tall

Interesting that during the Demonland podcast Pert was talking about having conversations with players wanting to come here. Said it is very different to previous years and players were saying 'If I've only got a few years left Melbourne is a club I'd like to go to'.

It may have been an off the cuff comment but I wonder if we are looking at someone like Gunston or Bruest who won't be there when the Hawks are successful again

Wouldn’t mind us having a crack at Pendles on a Lewis like deal. 2 years on a playing/coaching role. Might help clean up our midfield decision making

My favourite non MFC player. All class, always has time

I'd be genuinely happy if we had a serious crack at Luke Parker.

29 at the start of next year and the Swans would demand the world for him.

Weid (valued at: pick 30)
Pick 31 (tied to Bris)
Pick 54
Total points value - 1455, equivalent to pick 10
In exchange for Brayden Maynard.

Remaining assets to trade into the 2021 draft:

Pick 38 (tied to Hawks)
Future 2022 1st round draft pick (Melb) - will be assumed to be pick 18 by opposition to cover worst case scenario (in their eyes)
Total points value 1450 - equivalent to pick 10

Unrestricted Free Agent isn't he?

Yep I was mistaken, he is a free agent

I don’t think he can put contract talks on hold considering he's still contract until the end of 2022.

Collingwood could be trying to extend / re negotiate his contract on a back ended deal, that seems to have worked well for them lately.

Did you know he has a basketball background?

Would be a great get but can’t see him leaving.  He is skipper, they are flying and they are a brilliant club

All I’ve heard at this stage is that Barrass from WCE to Sydney Swans will get done on compassionate grounds, and I find it very hard to believe, however, I’m hearing that Harmes is not happy with his “role” at the Dees and will entertain trade talks at end of year.

That'd kill the Eagles

His Dad passed recently and his closest family member is a sister in Sydney.  Has asked his Manager to pursue a trade to Swans.

Fair enough.

On Harmes, not sure how this can be possible? He's being playing pure mid or close enough to it the last couple games, at the expense of Viney's additional forward time.

losing harmes wouldnt be a bad thing at all for our guts, get gus on the inside and go for that lipinski type on the wing and get more games into jordon/sparrow who are just as capable. would be relatively surprised tho as he is a dees fan since childhood and he's got the big LT deal sorted and he'd definitely like the offfield shenanigans that we know go on

also on barrass, wouldn't be such a loss for the eagles either Hedwards looks a real type at over 200cm and they've still got mcgovern, nelson etc in the short term obviously barrass is a serious star player but if any side has the defensive depth to not notice it'd be the weagles. not sure how the swans pay him tho given their public issues on the coin front especially given aliir just made way in that same role

I'm not a massive fan of Harmes as a player, but he's had so many mixed messages (right or wrong) from Goodwin over the last 2 years and has been frustrated most of that time. Clearly played out of position last year, this year was put more into a role that suits his strengths but was then given very specific instructions on how to play it and what to do; which made it more complicated - and let's be honest, he's the kind of player who needs it simple - and I wouldn't be surprised if that's had an impact on this apparent want for a trade. He was very very close to requesting a trade last year but Yze smoothed things over, as he's done with a lot of players, and he was swayed.

I know Harmes and Goody sometimes have had their moments, but you can't underestimate how much he and his family are invested in the club so I'd be somewhat surprised if a trade did eventuate; although not totally disappointed tbh.

Great Intel mate.

Unfortunately his old man passed away back in March.

Huge get for the Swans..

It would be disappointing if Harmes has not accepted his role especially as so many others have accepted changes.  The most obvious example is Gus.  Not only has he accepted the wing role he has embraced it and is a real asset to the team.  Viney is spending time fwd,  Oliver is playing a bit more outside etc.  The irony is that all those role tweaks/changes enable Harmes to spend more time in the middle.

Harmes came as a life long dees fan, a rookie, made a real go of it and earnt a long term contract.  It would be sad for him to go.  He still has a few years to go on his contract so I guess it is his choice to play the team game or to move on.

I’m intrigued Nev, what moments do you know they’ve had?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
