Suns open to Will Brodie being traded. Can play inside, but can also play forward. Mitch Wallis-like role is what is suggested in AFL article. Not our greatest need, but interesting nonetheless

Bombers seriously keen on him. but as you said not really someone we need, though we should look at all good players who become options.

i dont understand why people are disinterested in Ben Ronke. I've got no idea what he's been doing the last 2 seasons but in 2018 I remember him kick a bag of 7 and a bag of 5. That's enough for me to be interested and is ahead of any small forwards we have from kicking a bag.

Well actually he has been doing nothing in the past 2 years which is a significant form slump .No more c and d graders traded on to the list ,we have more than enough of these already .We are in the football business not the wishful thinking business and if a player can not be seen as in our best 22  there is no point in chasing him

Recent years we have targeted specific areas and each time got what we wanted or so it seems. Lever, May, Langdon, Tomlinson. Williams and Saad also have what we want but we have never really been talked about as being in the hunt. Why is that? Have we been priced out of the game both times?  Or do we have another target up our sleeve that hasn't been mentioned in the media yet and it hasn't come out. After the last few years I dont see us without a target this year and also a long way down the track with them, as per the above players that we acquired. But who? its a dream but why hasn't Cameron signed yet. Its the same with Viney but how many free agents get to this stage of the season and sign with there current club??

Ratugolea was dropped again for the final. I would chase him hard. He could help out in the ruck too if we clear Preuss.

Have to agree...! Only 22 yo. Crashes packs and decent grab and kick at goal as well.

More upside and longevity than the other forwards on the market.

It's possible we're targeting someone else, but I wonder if we're going for cheaper, serviceable options (Smith, Polec et al) and saving the cash for bumper contract extensions for Oliver and Petracca...

I agree Red, it does feel like a swap of those two players presents on the surface as advantageous for both parties, not sure if it'd involve picks or anything as well.

but they need a ruckman, we need a forward ruck, there is some logic to a swap being presented

Alex Witherden must be a prime target. I don’t think he will get a look in for the Lions finals team. For some reason , Fagan has left him out and seemingly he is available for offers.

Dees could look at the Preuss trade pick being passed to the Lions for Witherden.  Perhaps GWS pick 37 to Dees and then MFC trades it to Lions for Witherden.

A pretty clear reason he has been left out. Not the kind of player you want at half back. Players that think they have elite skills when they don't are the most dangerous players to have in your team. Hope we don't go near him.

Bump...

Darcy Fogarty may do better at a new club and Adelaide is considering letting him go; Pick 23 (with some decorative swapping) and Neal-Bullen are a possible start point of discussion but perceptions of his value are highly variable, both positive and negative.

If Essendon lose Daniher as expected, compounding their problem of aging talls at both ends of the ground, they may opt for a single trade to acquire both McDonald brothers. My understanding is the Bomber's and their supporters aren't willing to bottom out completely for a rebuild cycle so they are willing to bring in mature 'meat and potatoes' to help with depth and competitiveness.  (Behavioural economists call it the 'sunk costs fallacy') Possibility of a pretty complex three-way trade involving Brisbane's Alex Witherden coming to Melbourne and all kinds of junk late picks flying around for Academy points etc.

Melbourne is seriously considering 'opting out' of the draft if they can't manipulate a way well inside the first round and just keeping very late speculative picks given the chaos of the year, with the focus on known 'natural footballers' rather than finessing the athletes and potential.  Already a lot of effort invested in 2021 where we are hoping to use fewer but 'better' picks.

Fogarty seems like a mini Tex, built like Tarzan and play like Jane.

And now the experiment is ruined, unless Sam McClure has already tweeted it...

Ah yeah, carry on....a package deal for the McDonald bro's should have given it away.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
