Why bother posting if you're just going to whinge and make non factual statements?

Is there a dumbass award I'm not aware of on here?

I have been told that Isaac Smiths body is as sound as a 26yr old due to his late start into the AFL

Jordan Lewis just said on SEN He had reached out to Isaac Smith to see if he wanted any counsel on the decision and he never heard back from him! lol. I would’ve thought if he was as close to selecting Dees as we’re made to believe you’d reach out to an old teammate who spent time at the club... he also said he understands that whilst the Hawthorn offer is 2 years the trigger for a 3rd is pretty easy.

Same thing happened to Gawn. Tried to contact Smith a few times, got no response.

Bit of a worry.

Just had a massive bout of deja vu when reading this post.

Has nothing to do with the topic, but just thought I'd let everyone know.

For the record, the deja vu also included a feeling that he doesn't sign with us and we're all disappointed.

Maybe he lost his phone after a big night out? Happens to the best of us.

Out of interest, what's @Dr evil's track record like?

Or is this trolling at its finest?

Pretty good so far. Things change a mile a minute this time of year, but his info has been solid to this stage.

Could be so.

I'm not sure what the issue is with me asking the question.

I've read this site for a long time and have never noticed @Dr evilpost with intel. And if he has, does anyone know what his track record is like?

Pretty easy question.

Not sure about this part based on some of the replies in this thread!

Can see him going to the Cats now though.

Ha ha, I know, it was strange.

Certainly not disputing the overall feedback in the thread re: him signing with us, and I hope I'm wrong as Smith would be a very handy addition to the side.

@Dr evil definitively said that Smith is coming and it'll be announced this week so I'm not sure why posters are saying "things can change".

Isn't that right @Dr evil?

Yes. i am 100% confident Issac Smith will be a demon in 2021.

I said exactly this before the GF, and some DH on here laughed at me. F the trolls on here.

A late start to AFL level will have no influence on his body or the likelyhood of him losing speed / getting injured

He's in the perfect age bracket for the Cats key demographic. Even more so once the 3rd year of the contract hits.

There's no way he's going to Geelong.

Why?

Because Dr Evil made plain, he is going to Demonland for ONE....BILLION....DOLLARS!

Has Dr evil been accurate in previous years? I only ask because this year the only names he has brought to the table have already been mentioned by others, apart from two players which he won’t name. This is a genuine question.

Goodwin? Is there a single player in our forward 6 who'd get a game in either of the two teams in the GF? I think not, Fritsch might be the only one.

This is the major issue. We love to blame our midfield for us not having a forward line.

I'm not usually one for hyperbole but there's a decent argument for us having a top 5 midfield, top 5 defence and the least potent forward line in the comp.

While it would be nice, we don't need to have big 50+ goalkickers down there, we just need to start making defences accountable. This is why I think Ben Brown is a no-brainer. Even if not at his best, you have to man him up.

You can go back and look at his posts, and yes he is pretty good with his intel. Plus - he is part of a "group" of about 3-4 posters who seem to get the same information at the same time. So either he is very good at reading tea leaves, or he has a What's App group with people at the MFC.

A good start would be for the second rate fowardline that we do have Kicked the goals that they should given our somewhat limited opportunities

Allincluding ANB, Weid,Trac and Fritter waste early chances and the result is we are always under pressure

Frit misses 2-3 each game ANB also and Weid thats 6 goals a game

Agree.

I am not the biggest Fritsch fan, because I think he gets selected too easily as the best of a bad bunch. I doubt Geelong would have him in their starting forward 6. Definitely does not get a gig at Richmond.

Mitch Clearly just that Isaac Smith to Geelong is potentially in play.

Makes sense as to why he’s held off to this point and why he hasn’t responded to Lewis and Gawn.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
