Get it done, bombers need inside mids perhaps we can trade one of ours as a direct swap. Sparrow and a pick or a Brayshaw / Viney

didn’t seem to do much yesterday but bomb it long/up?

I think you'll find ANB was playing that defensive tagging role on him.

Did you see who he had upfield to kick to?

I know he is quick, can break lines and is generally a neat kick. What impressed me yesterday was his one on one work. If we can get him he will be an automatic selection and will complement Salem nicely across half back. Could also go some way to solving our small defender problem as we often get torched by opposition small forwards.

Didn’t think that much of him yesterday to be honest. Seems to just burst out of blocks and make it up as he goes Sam Frost style.

Not sure that manic movement is what we need. Salem was awesome yesterday and really stood out with his composure and skills. Same with Rivers and these are the type of players we need not Saad in my opinion.

Agree won some good one on ones.  I'm a fan.

admittedly i was a few beers in.. but i feel like i was trying to focus on his output.. oh well, who knows. i'm not against getting saad by any means, but just don't want to sign another player with average skills, if he's got em, great

Bob Murphy said on SEN this afternoon if he leaves Essendon that he is hearing Demons are his likely new home.

There was a view expressed in the media (sorry can't remember who) that if Saad leaves Essendon it will be because he wants to go to a club that is going to challenge soon (so won't be to North).

Recall seeing some articles stating that was his reason, it kind of seems like a reason to give for leaving that doesn’t  directly throw the coaching staff or administration under the bus. Him saying that though does say a fair bit about the direction he thinks the club is heading, though.

Saad would have some sort of relationship with Steven May right?

Yes

Richmond has asked about Adam Saad. He isn’t gone yet by any stretch. Demons don’t seem very keen at all despite speculation he is on his way there. Fantasia considering his future. Dons fans would you be upset if he went home?

Similar to Williams, is a good player but not worth the money that is being floated around. Happy to put @dazzledavey36 in charge and pursue Merrett.

Wouldn't think so given he's a practicing Muslim...

Sadly Bomberblitz Ralph probably has good connections on this one.

Gotta love this time of year though.

If Houli plans to retire, it's the perfect inclusion.

Don't we need a winger/outside mid or a small and tall forward

Why are we looking at this guy

Salems' position?

Would he replace  Hibbo?

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
