Shocking team selections.

ANB and Melksham stay in after having 0 influence on the scoreboard and also defensive pressure.

Hibbered missing after ankle soreness. There was whispers before the game last week he would potentially miss due to his ankle. They play him on Walter's and he kicks 3 goals and wins them the game. We had a fit Lockhart and Jetta ready to go.

Hope we get absolutely smashed.

Talent on every line . AND they are resting Riccardi - Gee they must rate their chances

So mummy in for gws and we omit Preuss.  Makes sense ?

I’m always one to look on the positive side when team sections are announced, but I’m really struggling to get excited by the selected team this week.

Smith, ANB, Brown, Melksham, all very lucky.

One thing I am happy to see is Hunt named at half back.  Hopefully he actually plays there and it’s not all for show.

Really bewildering how Lockhart isn't playing, yet Jetta is?

Let’s hope our small forwards actually do something this week.

Injuries are starting to add up, so not many alternatives.

hannan, lockhart, sparrow all available but yes i agree the injury list is getting larger than we'd like

How does ANB stay in???

Not really. Lockhart really ran out of puff at the back end of last year, and not hard to imagine the same thing here. Still a young player, and this is his first full season + pre-season. Not sure that Jetta is the answer, but with the injuries we have, hard to see what the choices are.

Don't hold your breath.

Don't buy that at all.
He's been listed as the emergency multiple weeks in a row.
He needs to be played.

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
