They've run it like a little fiefdom for years and no-one has challenged them and Pert let it continue by not getting someone outside to do last year's FD review.  So no wonder they were surprised.  Its about bl. . dy time, I say.

If what’s true? Your post was just the ramblings of a crazy person.

Saying we'd play anyone anywhere at any time and there'd be no excuses for our season left little room for any u-turns when it came to the Cairns situation. ...

Without getting into arguing to what extent the draw had on our performance, I disagree about u-turns.  A tough-sounding boast in public could be easily ignored both privately and publicly 6 months later.  So what if some supporter of another team says "but you said in March...".    If the AFL said that, a simple repsonse is 'we were wrong, so please soften the draw'.

If the team had what it takes, they would disprove Wilson by winning their last two games and with a bit of luck, they might front and beat Richmond in the elimination final.

A long shot, I know but I started this with the word “if”.

I read this alot on this forum that jacko got roos, how do you know this, oh did jacko tell you.

It was well reported at the time that Jackson was very determined in his pursuit of Roos. Turned him from "nup, not if hell freezes over" to "this sounds intriguing, I might give it a shot". I seem to recall reading quotes from Roos supporting that. This is hardly controversial.

They had the pre-season injury excuse last year and this year it will be COVID. Everyone keeps their jobs. We need strong leadership and sadly we are lacking it in all aspects of the club from the top down and sideways.

God I’m sick of this [censored]. We are back to square one again after trying to build a good club via Jackson and Roos.

if Goodwin is there next season possibly say goodbye to more players than just Viney, members will leave in droves based on this seasons performance, possibly sponsors and say hello to bottom 4 finish and another wasted season.

FMD this club really knows how to [censored] it supporters off.

If Goodwin is there next season say goodbye to my kids supporting this rabble of a club. I will always support the club but that’s because I am a [censored] stupid [censored] who thinks one day it will turn around.

What are you going on about? I’ve noticed a pattern with your postings, lots of hatred towards white people and men. Do you have a bob cut?

Nothing about that post surprised me when i saw who wrote it.

What’s interesting is that there are these influential Melbourne apparently considering a challenge of the board and Bartlett, but all things considered I can’t really fault the way the club has been run of late. Surely this will cause more destruction than construction.

Goodwin goes into 2021 under the pump, that can’t be changed. Do we really need more turmoil at the club?

I still think Goodwin will be in serious trouble if we lose tomorrow and miss Finals

The Members just won’t cop it.

I like Glen, but i just find it weird he is the President of the MFC, always have.
He is a Perth Boy

The Coaching extension of 3 years given after being smashed by his old club was a disgrace. Should have been 2 max, with performance requirements

If we don’t make finals people have to go

Regardless of what u think about Caro she does seem to have good contacts and generally on the mark with her info which is the disturbing in regards to our club.

Like all of us, you're too mentally deranged from too many years following this circus troup to do anything sensible about it.

There's a test they put little kids through. They put a biscuit in front of them and say "you can eat that right now if you like. But if you can wait 20 minutes without eating it, we'll give you two biscuits."

Some kids eat the biscuit and some wait. Melbourne supporters wait the 20 minutes and get no biscuit.

Hi Sue. Yeah, it's a fair point you make. I think that the same mantra was being used publicly throughout the season in various pressers and not just pre season but that in itself doesn't mean that any concerns about Cairns couldn't have been raised privately with the AFL. Maybe they were.

Personally I had concerns about the fact we had to shoehorn 3 games in over such a short time span and such a large geographical area. It doesn't take too much to uncover our shortcomings as a team unfortunately and that wouldn't have helped for sure.

Very sad to see a woman who claims to support women, be the puppet of a group of white priviledge men,who think that their money and colour gives them a right to terorize the people trying to do a their job. This article is full of falsehoods designed to cause distress and disruption. It is highly defanitrory and her sources ( which she basically reveals ) in all her articles about melbourne, if you read closely you will see a pattern. nothing in this article is true at all. What is true is that she has shown her cards, that is, her premise as a sport journalist is based on pushing the agenda for a small group of white privilegde men, who think they are entitled to impose themselves into footy clubs for their own egos, whilst sitting in portsea and sorento. Shame on you Caro, this group of men and yoursself are not melbourne. There a 40,000 plus members that are just as important , rich or not, no matter wehere they come from, we are all  important. Footy is not for just a small group of white men, who are you are matey with, it belongs to everyone.

Well at least now we know who Jack Russell is, Hi Glen...

I don't like the story, eludes early to some secret information of a big movement on the board but ultimately appears she's just commentating on the facts as we know it... That is

  - performance is below expectations

  - supporters have had a gut full

Bit of a non-story in the end, 5 mins on DL is more insightful

Yappy as always and has a clear axe to grind with Wilson and Peter Jackson. Seems to dislike Jackson alot based on previous postings.

Very quick to come to the defence of Bartlett and always posts to gloat when the Dees win. Silent when we lose.

Also has no problem name calling dyed-in-the-wool supporters when they don't tow the party line.

Garbage, she specializes in creating articles to stir up trouble.

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.
