Or, at the very least, spend more time there.  Not a bad option if you ask me.

Hopefully to bring it to ground for Bedford, Kozzie, etc. His set shots are a worry.

Oh dear

Building ‘cohesion’ as the coach puts it. ?

I love most of the ins, but dropping Brown who has been our best marking target the last 2 weeks is a bit strange.

I think they picked Preuss to reall try and stretch the Oppo by having he and Gawn rotate deep.

Brown was horrible against the swans

How is Smith still in the team?!

We blew our chances against sydney so how many changes are irrelevent. Good to see some pace but why is ANB playing along with Smith. Why is lockhart still out ? Same with Bennell.

Love the changes this week, a real Hail Mary if ever there was one!!!

May fortune favor the brave and Preuss kick 5 goals playing out of the goal square!

Go you good things!

Absolutely love these changes but can't help thinking it may be a week to late. Still I have wanted to see some real pace in our side and finally it has been delivered. Now boy's don't let this opportunity slip, get out there and run them off their feet.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

His intensity is a worry but he seems to be the only one who can hit a target in the fwd line

Clearly Max is going to play a lot of the game up forward.

Or Preuss, he’s a much better kick and Max is a much better ruck (when he actually hits it to our blokes)

What’s the go with Dunkley? He’s not mentioned in the injury report or the scratch matches.

Bennell is really on the outer.

Why, we were lucky to get any games out him of this year,  they need to get him right for the long term.

That would have to be Smith surely. No Lockhart or Jetta again, unbelievable.

Appears that way plus Smith must his fav also. Those 2 should have been dropped also along with Fritter and ANB very lucky. It is basically our last chance so just hope this team gets going and wins well and then see what happens against GWS

Still the worst forward line in the AFL. Re-arranging the deckchairs on the Titanic. Hope I'm wrong.

Maybe Max will kick a couple, although he'll need about six shots. Which might be what I'll need if we lose again.

The changes finally will bring some outside dash. I dont mind trialling the two rucks when we dont have another key forward nailing the second spot. At minimum it will remove the focus of double teaming Weid. Melksham surely on notice. I assume he will play midfield time with AVB to cover the loss of Brayshaw in particular.

Best of luck to Baker and Bedford who I think can give more of what we need with a clear go at it.

Teams announced on a Sunday night.

We are living in strange times.

Who even keeps track of what day it is?

Finally a team with a bit of run. No pressure lads, but there is no time to adjust or build form, just need to hit the ground running.

  • GAMEDAY: Western Bulldogs

It's Game Day and the Demons will be running out on the field with a new Head Coach, albeit a caretaker, for the first time in 3,060 days when they face the Western Bulldogs at the MCG today. What do you want to see from the Demons in the first match of the Post Simon Goodwin era?

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
