West Coast are just no good away from home. Makes you think if the prelim in 2018 was played at the MCG.

WC could end up 5th... with us at 8th

Guess where the match would be played

I wouldn't be overly concerned. We won't finish in the 8.

Hated Ess winning.ย

But a great example of how a coach can totally turn a game by a positional change (Hooker fwd took McElvoy out of the game) and made a few tweaks on ball movement from stoppages.ย  Their intensity went up and Hawks couldn't get the ball.ย  11.5 to Hawks 3.1 in the second half.ย

It's going to be a messy draft. But if the first roundย overnight split is retained then the value of early second round picks significantly rises. I was cheering on Essendon.ย

Did anyone else notice Hooker squibbing itย when a high one came in,and he didnโ€™t realise he was by himself, ducked his head and missed an easy mark? ย ย ย He was so lucky, because he chased it and a contrary bounce came back to him, and he was able to pass off to in front of goal.

It was so like watching Melbourne last night.

Hawthornย missed at leastย ย 5 sitters in the first half. Should have been unassailable at halftime. Essendon kept just in it by accurate kicking.

Early goal in the third to Essendon, so they lift, and Hawthorn panic.

The sides Iโ€™m barracking for always kick crookedly, and their opponents canโ€™t miss! ย At one stage ESS were 14:3, with the three behinds all rushed!

Good old diamond Joe. I forgot about him and his red and blue Kippah. ?

Not good for our chances but Doggies putting Cats away in first ten mins does make me feel mildly better about last week.ย

Iโ€™d say we got the Doggies in the middle of a hot streak for them.

Theyโ€™ll likely cool off later in the season or in finals.

Forget finals dogs will win more games along with pies ... just another failed season going into our 6th decade of failureย

Yeh they have this one wrapped up and i dont think pies will drop out.

I love the way Naughton plays. Don't care what jumper he is in (although I would love him at the Dees), he makes me watch.ย

ย

If anything, that first term shows how good Steven May is.ย  Naughton has looked sensational in that first term, and he didn't get a sniff last week.

Doggies showing speed is king. We [censored] up selection for our match against the Saints tomorrow.

Time ย Goodwin & Mahoney hand the keys in! Both game plan & recruitment stinkย

Doggies win tonight nearly closes the door on our finals chances.

We need to win 4 of the next 5 to make it. 3 from 5 might scrape us in. Canโ€™t see it happening unfortunately.

What an amazing tactic. ย
Is that legal?

Or you could look at it more positively and say we wereย no worse than Geelong with the dogs kicking 6 in a rowย

Pies could well drop out with their injury list, theyโ€™re our chance. Dogs are better than what people have them credit for and are setting themselves up nicely for a tilt.ย

Well we only lost to them by 2 points.

They still have played one more game than us and we have the superior % so long as we win as many games as they do we still finish ahead of them

  • Welcome to Demonland: Steven King

The Melbourne Football Club has selected a new coach for the 2026 season appointing Geelong Football Club assistant coach Steven King to the head role.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
