West Coast are just no good away from home. Makes you think if the prelim in 2018 was played at the MCG.

WC could end up 5th... with us at 8th

Guess where the match would be played

Hated Ess winning.

But a great example of how a coach can totally turn a game by a positional change (Hooker fwd took McElvoy out of the game) and made a few tweaks on ball movement from stoppages.  Their intensity went up and Hawks couldn't get the ball.  11.5 to Hawks 3.1 in the second half.

It's going to be a messy draft. But if the first round overnight split is retained then the value of early second round picks significantly rises. I was cheering on Essendon.

Did anyone else notice Hooker squibbing it when a high one came in,and he didn’t realise he was by himself, ducked his head and missed an easy mark?    He was so lucky, because he chased it and a contrary bounce came back to him, and he was able to pass off to in front of goal.

It was so like watching Melbourne last night.

Hawthorn missed at least  5 sitters in the first half. Should have been unassailable at halftime. Essendon kept just in it by accurate kicking.

Early goal in the third to Essendon, so they lift, and Hawthorn panic.

The sides I’m barracking for always kick crookedly, and their opponents can’t miss!  At one stage ESS were 14:3, with the three behinds all rushed!

Not good for our chances but Doggies putting Cats away in first ten mins does make me feel mildly better about last week.

I’d say we got the Doggies in the middle of a hot streak for them.

They’ll likely cool off later in the season or in finals.

Forget finals dogs will win more games along with pies ... just another failed season going into our 6th decade of failure

Yeh they have this one wrapped up and i dont think pies will drop out.

I love the way Naughton plays. Don't care what jumper he is in (although I would love him at the Dees), he makes me watch.

Doggies win tonight nearly closes the door on our finals chances.

We need to win 4 of the next 5 to make it. 3 from 5 might scrape us in. Can’t see it happening unfortunately.

What an amazing tactic.
Is that legal?

Or you could look at it more positively and say we were no worse than Geelong with the dogs kicking 6 in a row

Pies could well drop out with their injury list, they’re our chance. Dogs are better than what people have them credit for and are setting themselves up nicely for a tilt.

They still have played one more game than us and we have the superior % so long as we win as many games as they do we still finish ahead of them

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
