Out: Pruess (as good as he was), Sparrow
IN: Gawn, Bennell

Hard to change. Keeping Vander's, Spargo and the Melkman was a stroke of genius!

Gawn for Pruess if Max is fit. Harmes out and maybe give Jordan a run.

Lockhart out.

Thought he was fantastic, what am I missing

Depends on Max. If he is right then Preuss out. I would drop Tomlinson as well and bring in Bennell.

Preuss showed enough tonight for us to wait until Gawn is truly ready, there is no need to rush him back. Harmes and Jones are the two that worry me the most, Sparrow is doing a good job but had lesser impact and may be worth a rotation to blood Jordon or shift Harmes into the midfield and Rivers to the back half. Will ee who gets called out in the scratch that we also won well before I decide but would not surprised if we go unchanged.

all comes down to whether max is crocked and how everyone pulled up

as much as i'd love bennell back in, none of spargo, pickett, jones look like being dropped

i'm going to presume it's simply max for preuss

Give Max another week of rest, Preuss more than capable at the level. Tomlinson was ordinary but cant offer up much of a replacement. His flexibility to go back and take a tall forward has been great the last 3 weeks even in spite of his ball use. Unchanged for mine.

Tomlinson for benell and tmac for maxy. Play both Max and preuss.

In: Gawn

Out: Preuss

I’m not sure Bennell warrants selection again just yet. The only potential outs would be Tomlinson maybe Sparrow.

TMac may not have dominated , but he is a competitor in the ruck and in the forward like, which suits our smaller fwds . I would bei nterested in how our coaching staff rate some of the "lesser lights "contributions tonight.

Make a tough match-up for the Dogs. Rest the big men forward and Fritta goes to the wing. Won't happen.

Bont and Daniel are the keys to the Dogs. Hold one or both and you're halfway to a win.

HB appears reluctant to lay a tackle. I suspect tackle pressure is what the FD love about Spargo. Sparrow improving each week. A keeper.

All played their roles.  It was Harmes best game

  • AFLW REPORT: Gold Coast

The forecast said wind. The ladder said mismatch. The scoreboard said obliteration. Melbourne didn’t just beat Gold Coast — they dismantled them: 13.15 (93) to 0.6 (6). An 87-point obliteration, the Suns held goalless, and the Demons delivering their second-highest winning margin and third-highest score in AFLW history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #28 Will Verrall

It was a tough ask for him to break through as a 199cm ruckman in the shadow of an all-time great in that position who is also the club captain. He had some good days at Casey but was unable to progress and was delisted at the end of the season.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #29 Tom Campbell

The 33-year-old Campbell has yet to play AFL football for Melbourne, but his Casey form has been strong and he has been retained as a ready-made ruck depth option who is widely regarded as someone who is excellent for the culture of the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #30 Harry Sharp

The Demons acquired an interesting player in Sharp, who narrowly missed securing a spot in the Lions’ premiership team last year. The 22-year-old medium forward played in the opening round this season and ended up with 18 senior games, although he was substituted in or out in for ten of those matches. He demonstrated glimpses of form, but ultimately ended the year on the margins of the team.

Worked his way back after a slow start and a further slump in form going into the midseason but became a solid contributor for the club in the latter half of 2025. Closing in on 300 goals for the club.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.
